Honda WR-V

Honda has unveiled the next-generation WR-V in the Indonesian market. Unlike its forerunner that was a beefed-up Jazz, the new SUV is based on the Amaze’s platform and its design is based on the SUV RS concept. Its body shape now leans more towards a crossover than a conventional SUV, and it also breaks the sub-4m barrier with a length of 4,060mm. Its cabin is pretty much identical to the Amaze sedan but it now gets a few features from the City Hybrid’s ADAS suite. The WR-V is expected to make its way to the Indian market in the future. 

Features of Honda WR-V : Honda has equipped the new-generation WR-V with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted audio controls, keyless entry with push button start, automatic climate control, and a multi-info display. On the safety front, it gets ADAS features from the City Hybrid along with other equipment like six airbags, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Honda WR-V Engine : The new-generation SUV gets the same 121PS, 1.5-litre petrol engine paired to a CVT gearbox found in the fifth-gen City. However, if brought to India, Honda could equip it with the smaller 1.2-litre petrol engine found in the existing model. It is bigger than the previous generation SUV, measuring 4,060mm in length, 1,780mm in width, and 1,608mm in height. It spans a wheelbase of 2,485mm, which is 70mm smaller than the previous-gen model which is currently on sale here.

Honda WR-V Rivals : The Honda WR-V in its latest incarnation would rekindle its rivalry with the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
