  • Q. Can Jawa Perak be used as touring bike?
    Zigwheels | 2 weeks ago

Yes, it can be used for long rides and touring purposes. It has good power and the seat is comfortable enough for both city and highway rides. But there is no provision to add touring kit in the bike. So, taking heavy belongings on long rides might be an issue. Do take a test ride in order to get better clarity. • Q. 1) When will Jawa Perak be available on road? 2 ) What will be the on road price? 3) Which is better between Bullet 500 STD vs Jawa Perak vs Jawa 42? 4) Which one has better riding road stability among 3 bikes? 5) Is any option availble of adding pillon seat on Jawa Perak?

It is expected that the deliveries for the Perak to commence from early 2020. Jawa Motorcycles did launch the Perak along with the two bikes but only the price was announced, which was Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings and the sale of the bike were scheduled to commence much later. As the bike has not yet launched so it would be really hard draw any comparison for it. In comparison, the Jawa Forty Two is a neo-retro take on the classic looking Jawa. The Forty Two shares the same double cradle frame, front telescopic forks and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers with the Jawa. Both get 18-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels shod with tube-type MRF Nylogrip tyres and a front disc-rear drum setup with a single-channel ABS as standard. On the other hand, The Perak is a bobber based on the Jawa. Although the front half is identical to the Jawa, the rear gets a completely different design. This single-seater bike has a unique matte black paint job with blacked out front forks, spoke wheels, frame, engine and exhaust. It gets a contrasting tan seat too.

  • Q. How much is Jawa Motorcycles Perak reliable?
    Zigwheels | 4 months ago

It would be too early to give any verdict for the reliability for a bike which has launched few months ago.The Perak draws power from a bored-out 334cc single-cylinder engine, derived from Jawa’s smaller 293cc unit. The motor complies with BS6 emission norms making it the first future-proof bike from Jawa. In its current state of tune, it makes 30.4PS and 31Nm. Its double-cradle chassis is taken from from the other two bikes and tweaked to accommodate the new wide cage-type swingarm. Jawa Perak's ground clearance is around 145mm. That said, this is a bobber, not a do-it-all motorcycle. You may have to be a bit more careful while navigating through bad roads. You do get a long 1485mm wheelbase (116mm longer than the standard Jawa) which should translate into better stability out on the highway. The bike is anchored by disc brakes on both ends, paired with dual-channel ABS.
