Mate honda did try hands on cbr250r i see it's just one of but it barely did good sales, india is a home for mostly middle class who can afford 150cc or anything under that category activa is just a new scooty as they call it affordable and as its honda so reliable. if honda gets pcx or forza or any m**i it's going to be a different game for that money we can get a geared motorcycle with higher output, bajaj for instance is value for money proposition, say Honda brings a 200cc naked or faired and adv liquid cooled they are goin to charge premium and again it wont be affordable. honda acts as bmw on any techy or a capable motorcycle.

The split of hero Honda is based on uneven technology sharing.Honda's market in India is based on the stereotype that Japanese makers have advanced engineering,technology etc.which may partially true but manufacturing that in India would not cost much.in the past few years all commuter models from Honda had only analog meter that to a basic one, they were not ready to add any features unless or until it is absolutely necessary. brand name decides their price making 'Honda' a high end manufacturer with low end tatics(decent engine+aged old body design,paint job,speedo,headlamp)..encourage native manufacturers..

Not just in the case of Honda, these accusations can be also follow up in the case of nissan-renault- mitsubishi trio and also in the case of toyota as they have stopped launching new models for indian market. Renault is the only company which is holding the ground for the trio. Nissan is struggling all over the map. If they are atleast able bring back there legendary sportscar like the R34 skyline gtr, and a new gen 370z maybe the long awaited 400z to market as soon as possible they could get out of the hole they dug deep.

I don't think so. i frankly feel that we do have the purchasing capacity of other markets and also our government is not helping it either by keeping the tax's high. check out KTM. but you are true regarding the point that there are 1000's and 1000's to buy their vintage activa since ages and i feel HMSI don't see a point in shaking the market. LOL and the end result is 50 shades of activa, 50 shades of shine and 50 shades of unicorn. i really don't understand what is stopping our TVS jupiter from reaching the top.

Couldn't agree more. Look at its global lineup, and compare to India. Everybody gets the profitability motive. But what's with reluctance of bringing in iconic platforms like 500 cc series to India? They dusted up their late 70s tech and rebranded it as highness. It's nasty what they are doing in India.

We are not easy to convince.This happens because we need a limited power to do small works.Like the foreigners if every ordinary person starts to buy a honda 300 or more than 300 cc models then probobaly tha would be a win for them.

Sir, because we are in general very thrifty about our money, being largely in middle class family scenario, where spending is very thoughtful process. hence cheap cars, Bikes that defy industry standards happen here.

Good words by aniket, and design development is also not that great all the models are outdated as per design and features really honda should focus on this before launching it to indian market.

Suzuki did same in Pakistan. Dumping obsolete cars there. HMSI is doing the same thing in India.
