I would request you not to do it if you are buying a new bike.It will void your warranty and will cost you a lot of money in parts unnecessarily.

I can understand your concern boss... My Hinalayan is two and haf years old now. Its odo shows 30,000. City and Highway mixed. I have never once faced an issue where hinalayan doesnt start and i feel like using a kick. Once in the rain floods my bike got clogged with water. I pushed it in the 1st gear for few meters and the bike started with bit of clogged coughing and 3 to 5 seconds later it was idling like a regulard day idle. Please dont ask for Mileage. Its a purpose built bike. Everyone gets mileage as per their usage and carb tuning. Varies between 25 to 32

Agreed that kickstart is old technology but one of the safest solution in all the time for motorcycles (open Engine machine). Since these bikes go for the long riding you should provide kick option on upcoming series.

  • Q. How effective is ABS in Himalayan, is it worth paying 15-20 k more than the usual FI version?
    AMOGH
    AMOGH | 6 months ago

Yes .ABS is a mandatory safety feature. It will save your life in emergency situations.I will gladly pay 25k to retrofit it on my old himalayan. Also the normal brakes on the non abs himalayan lock up very easily. It can be quite unnerving if you are not used to it.

  • Q. Is Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet ABS is good for buying. I am asking this because I heard many rumours about that bike.

    Zigwheels | 7 months ago

With the Himalayan, Royal Enfield really went beyond their area of expertise to cater to the needs of riders who like to explore the unknown. Its spartan design is meant to be as functional as possible, while the modern 411cc, air-cooled engine with oil-cooler is the most refined among Royal Enfield’s motorcycles. Himalayan is the most affordable adventure tourer available in the country at present. No-nonsense adventure enthusiasts will find the Himalayan appealing as it is the only off-road friendly motorcycle in the lower end of the spectrum.

The performance is amazing but you've check with dealerships whether they've the accesories and spares or not . Because right now I'm facing a big problem for the spares and accessories as there's always unavailability in my particular region i.e., Andhra Pradesh

    Sirish
    Sirish | 3 weeks ago

No ,you can't.for tubeless tyres you need alloy wheels.himalayan comes with spoke wheels..but the tyres they provide are of good quality..they don't easily puncture in normal city rides.

Yes you can. But that is really not worth. Its a expensive affair. Better to stick to tube type.

  • Q. How is the riding comfort for a long drive - Himalayan?
    Sachin
    Sachin | 8 months ago

Absolutely brilliant. No other bike has come as close to Himalayan for long-ride-comfort in this budget. I have done 95kms in a stretch. However, It is recommended to take a break every 75 to 80km's for rider and for the bike's good health.

I ride on my Himalayan from Delhi to Himachal once in a month, and I always take only a single or 2 breaks during my journey. Morning 4 am Delhi to 11:30 at kangra, Himachal. I always feel great while riding...
