Q. Can "EP 90 Gear Oil" be used as chain lube? The user manual says it is "SAE 80 or 90" gear oil. But, will the EP additives in the gear oil harm the material of the chain anyway? The chain is supposed to be made of steel, I believe. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance! - CB Hornet 160R?

Chain lubricants and engine oils have different components and different working and using the engine oil as a chain lubricant would not be a good idea as it would attract a lot of dust which is not good for the chains. We'd suggest you to use authentic chain lubricants and not the engine oil.

Using engine oil as chain l**e is very bad idea because when it is applied ,it reduces the life of the chain as the chain contains x ring or o ring parts

Use chain l**e instead of engine oil.
