We would like to inform you that UM has discontinued its new bike sales operations from India. The Classic 350 is the highest-selling model available in RE’s stable. It’s chrome-crowned headlight, teardrop fuel tank, round mirrors, analogue dials and single saddle seat are reminiscent of bikes from the 40’s. An option of a bolt-on rear seat is an added bonus. Also, its low seat height is apt for the average Indian consumer. A shorter wheelbase compared to the Standard variant and a low centre of gravity translate to better riding dynamics of the motorcycle. Also, it is available with a BS6 compliant engine. The Thunderbird’s massive 20 ltr fuel tank, low seating and forward-set foot controls are perfect for long-distance cruising, although the handlebars do take some time to get used to. The rear backrest provides enough support for the pillion rider, which can also be removed to mount luggage. The Thunderbird is the most feature-rich bike to come from Royal Enfield’s stable. Thunderbird 350 gets dual tripmeters with average speed readout, digital fuel gauge, projector headlamp with LED DRLs and a rear LED tail light. The Thunderbird 350 is perfect for customers who use the bike for city rides and occasional highway touring. In contrast to the Standard Thunderbird, the Thunderbird X is targeted towards a younger audience. Its brightly coloured fuel tank, colour-matched rim stickers and modern alloy wheels help it stand out from the rest of the pack. It does away with the backrest and the ape-like handlebar for a much sportier flat handlebar. The Benelli Imperiale looks impressive and has its larger size going for it. However, its heavy weight is a compromise. It does look promising in the braking department, but then you miss out on performance. This is the bike to go for if you want that big bike look.Royal Enfield bikes over the years have evolved into more reliable machines (there is still more scope for improvement) but still offer the best old world charm and experience. They still have a huge fan following and understandably so. Also, Royal Enfield has a better service network in India. But, if you’re in the market for something unique that is also safer, the Imperiale looks like the one to go for.You may compare these bikes according to their variants.Do take a test ride before the final call. Check out authorised dealership details.
