About Yamaha FZ-S V3 BS4

It won’t be an exaggeration to say that Yamaha’s FZ series kick-started the sporty naked streetfighter trend in India. The first generation FZ’s were known for their mean design, muscular bodywork and chunky rear tyre. The FZ-S took things up a notch by introducing new graphics and additional bits like an underbelly pan, a fly screen and an engine cowl. Since then, the series has garnered a loyal fan following. In order to keep things fresh, Yamaha recently introduced the third iteration of the FZ range with re-worked design and addition of nifty features like LED headlamps and an LCD instrument cluster. Most importantly, it now comes with the added safety of a single-channel ABS unit.

Yamaha FZ-S V3 BS4 Overview

Yamaha has issued a recall for the FZ-S FI Version 3.0 manufactured from October 2019 in the country. The recall is over non-fitment of the reflector at the rear. Yamaha will contact affected customers and install the part for free. In a related development, the 150cc FZ series motorcycles become Yamaha’s first BS6-compliant bikes. The premium FZS-Fi receives a price hike of Rs 2,600 and now it costs Rs 1,01,200 (ex-showroom Delhi). In a bid to be emission compliant, the 149cc engine has seen a drop in max power, which is now rated at 12.4PS. However, the torque has gone up slightly to 13.6Nm. The FZS-FI gets two new colours: metallic red and Darknight -- the latter costs Rs 1,500 more than the base colours.

Q. I m 5.2, is it comfortable for me or how can i adjust the seat height - FZS V3?
  • My height is 5ft 2inch..i am riding this bike it has good agronomics, i can easily manage it .If i have a pillion then seat height is decreased with pillion's weight and my both foot touches ground easily. If you have good riding skills then you can easily ride it and even enjoy ride. One thing this bike has downside that is its turning radius..it cannot turned like unicorn it needs alot space so i turn it by half ...half ..little turn and again steer the handle and again turn and again steet. But it is now useto for me even so fun .
  • I am 5ft 2 inch and i can handle preety well...i can easily manage So you don't have to worry for seat height but you should have good riding skills. If you have pillion the seat height will be decreased with pillion's weight and your foot will reaches to ground. On single also you will enjoy a good ride due to its agronomics. So i don't think the height issue.
  • Height is slightly short for FZS V3 bro. For best comfort go for bikes like apache rtr or hornet. If FZS is your only choice I'll suggest a test ride before making your mind.

Q. Which is the best bike compared with Honda Hornet, TVS Apache RTR 160 4v, Yamaha FZ S 3.0 in mileage, pickup, comfort, price, service and spares?
  • If we compare Fi version of all bike then i think pickup of TVS Apache will be more, according to mileage 1st will be Hornet then Yamaha and then Apache but the difference will be only 4-5 kms.If we come to comfort i own Apache and i didnt find any problem with comfort, and for pricing you should contact dealers in the city.
  • I have carb. version of apache its good that your bike is giving such a mileage.
  • Bro U have the older version of apache i think The rtr 160 4v gets almost 59-60 on the highways and minimum 48 in city i think u will change ur opinion

Q. I am about to buy a new bike. Can u suggest me a bike between R15 V3 and FZ S Fi V3 for long rides Including high range areas. I am confused because of the price, mileage and comfort.
  • R15 is for really sports use Cons are less mileage when compared to fz v3 Back pain will happen because there is a commited riding position Can't be comfortable for your mom or sister Pros are top speed Can you for track races perhaps If going for fz means Pros are Mileage Less maintenance Easily accessible for family Best for city usage and occasionally highway rides
  • I am very happy with the comfort of FZ S FI V3, Milage 48-50 KM/ltr, till the speed of 80/hr. after that millage depends over driving. seats are gud, very less vibrations, trust of Yamaha. One major thing to notice is to check carefully each and every part before purchasing.
  • See friend riding a bike depends on each individual, however I recommend fzs fi as it is the most comfortable bike, R15 is also a good bike but you have to bend while riding which I think is not good for long rides. Rest depends on you what you prefer.

if you want a bike with good mileage and a decent sporty look and use it for some long rides means just go for it and if you use it for daily commute and family usage means it the one which is useful for your mother and wife to sit in it. if you ride the bike upto 75km/hr means it will deliver a mileage of about 50-52kmpl if it reved smooth. and the top speed of the bike is 120km/hr but you can cruise easily upto 90km/hr without any vibration. since i have taken my fz for a 1000km ride from chennai to yercaud it gave me a mileage of 48kmpl when cruising at speed of 85km/hr with a pillion that much is the mileage and ride quality of this bike. the one this you will find is that the handle bar on the left is tilted towards the front and the rear brake foot rest is tilted towards the back so you will feel that you were sitting towards the right of the vehicle .

Worst byk. 100cc bikes can provide far better pickup and performance. Least powered motor cycle. Worst worst worst performance. Its been two months from purchase date and 1700km of travel, my bike rear tyre got burst during ride. Without any crash the tyre got burst that clearly indicating the quality provided by ceat and yamaha. Moreover, dealers are also not responding properly, when I raise my issue. Less power, less torque, less mileage and low quality, but high price. If you are looking for performance, blindly ignore this vehicle.

Good bike with the neat braking system and decent mileage.. but me being a tall rider of 6 ft I have been facing back pain and discomfort in the knees occasionally if I ride for long. One thing I didn't like in this bike is the mudguard.. the semi-open mudguard is not designed properly and during rains, it will spill on the sides of the bike and pillions lower part of the pant will be damaged due to splash... Yamaha should think about retaining the old mudguard that they had used for FZ

Its been 2 week with FZS V3 FI Bike looks amazing as Yamaha was the reason for providing Street Fighter Budget Bikes in India.I was really confused to go with FZS V3 FI & MT15, however I compare both and found FZS V3 FI more value for money with minimum sacrifices as I have changed my bike after 9 years.* Performance is excellent if you talk about city commute.* Suspensions are very good for Indian roads.* Mileage can be disclose after 2nd service.* Pillion comfort is good.
