There are different sorts of engine oils available in the market depending on the climate and driving conditions. We would suggest you to get in touch with the nearest authorized service center and they would assist you with the best suitable oil. Moreover, you may refer to the user manual of the bike.
Gixxer is very good compared to Apache RTR 160 (Slow pickup and less mileage) . I feel for you it will be good choice for Gixxer(best mileage, power , road grip and handling) only drawback is pilion seat height
As a gixxer owner I would suggest go for Hornet.Gixxer seat, both for rider and pillion is very uncomfortable due to the aggressive slant. Also, gixxer maybe more technically improved, it fails to be good in simple things. You will find that almost every gixxer owner is facing electric start issue.Coupled with that I am facing Gear position indicator issue along with self start problem since the day I have bought it.
If you don't want to compare the mileage with Maruti, then Hyundai is the best choice in the segment. Even the NVH levels of I20 are also the lowest for the segment
For Highway driving and Single rider, Gixxer is best. But for daily commuter purpose and City usage, Hornet is a better deal than Gixxer
Gixxer is in town since 4 years now.. Have owned it since then previously I owned rye 160fi was not happy with service cost.. It was too high are 2500 or 3000 and when it is less its still 1500 but when ever bike is serviced it felt like a new bike all together but in gixxer if you are not having any accident or major problem the average service cost is around 800 including engine oil well can't comment on rtr 1604v as it must have resigned engine than the previous model. But if you are looking a long term bike like more than 5 years or 10 years go with gixxer and if u change bike every 2 to 3 years go for Apache
Both are good, but TVS has better engine, turning in TVS is little more than Suzuki, but my overall experience with TVS is better, Suzuki seating was more comfy (Suzuki exp is only based on test ride) . I don't own a Suzuki so cant say about maintenance.
I think Apache 160 4 v is much better than Suzuki Gixxee ABS because it has more road presence than anyone.Apache has best resell value.Apache has best conosole.Apache has better sound, build quality everything is best.
It's extremely hard when you first buy it even seems broken. Its done to stop you from riding it fast for first 5000 kilometres. At first service the staff will set it properly, so make sure you buy from the best Suzuki dealer in your area. Else skip it altogether.
There is no problem with the gear shifting after first service. For new bike, use clutch for every gear shift when shift to downwards/upwards. If gear doesn't shifts downwards then release the clutch and again press. It works. Downshifting 2-3 gears in a single clutch press feels hard. But after 1st service, gear shifting will be very smooth.
It gets stuck between 2&3 very often when new. But ride it anyway and it will become usable by around 5000 km. check with service center staff, they say the same.
Hi Himanshu, i understand your concern. Let me be straight forward. Safety is better than anything else. In today’s traffic and the way people ride. Its always better to have a bike with ABS enabled so that you don’t skid and fall at times of emergency braking.
Single channel abs work only in front wheel and double channel abs work both the front and back wheels double channel abs is better than single channel abs.
I am skinny type guy. Buying a royal Enfield is a good option or go with gixxer sf??
Pros and Cons of Gixxer as I own it.Engine performance is really good. Weight is less in comparison and thus it is light and nimble with good grip. Mileage which I get is 52 Kmpl and that includes both highway and city ride of 20 kms a day. Maintaining a bike is easy as it costs only 400 bucks per service except engine oil change. Gixxer is shorter hence benefits the driver of less height and it might be an issue for people with height 6 feet or more. This is it! My take will be Gixxer for city and Hornet for highway riding. It would be better if you take the test rides if available.
Gixxer is better for riding and hornet for honda's reliability and smooth engine
