Honda is known for its reliable and refined engines and the CB Shine SP is no exception. With its butter smooth 125cc H.E.T. engine producing a healthy 10.5 bhp, 10.3 Nm of torque and a mileage of 74.7 kmpl, Shine is a promising bike for those who are looking for a fuel efficient commuter with more power than 100 cc commuters. The bike is priced at ₹ 59,900 for the base version. The top end models are equipped with CBS (Combined braking system), self-start and alloy wheels. The bike is available in four colours

Honda CB Shine SP Overview

The Honda CB Shine SP is a more premium variant of the Japanese brand’s best-selling 125cc commuter motorcycle, the CB Shine. It comes with slightly more premium, sportier design elements, and more importantly, a 5-speed transmission in place of the CB Shine’s 4-speed unit. It also gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, which comes with a service-due indicator and clock as opposed to the spartan analogue instrument cluster on the CB Shine.


Honda launched the Shine BS6 in February 2020. It is priced at Rs 67,857 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base drum version, which is a premium of Rs 7,867 over the CB Shine BS4 drum. Honda also launched the spiritual successor to the CB Shine SP, the SP 125 back in November 2019. It starts from Rs 73,452, a premium of Rs 7,409 over the drum variant of the Honda CB Shine SP BS4.

Q. CB Shine SP has 18-inch wheels. As I want to install a 100/90 tire, on 18 inches, it will increase the 20 mm diameter of the wheel and will lead to a drop in mileage. The best option I see is to install a 100/90 tire on 17 inch which is 7 mm lesser than the original (617mm). Technically it should not affect the mileage and should increase the stability. Please suggest
  • You may go for a wider tyre but upsizing the size of a tyre is increasingly becoming an obsession with people to create an added visual appeal to their bike. Moreover, It is advisable to go for an upgrade anywhere between the 3% margin for better performance and handling, increased grip, and creating a visual appeal. Do take note that upsizing the wheels and tyres may decrease the fuel efficiency of the bike and may result in a speedometer error on the bike if upsizing is not correct.

  • I don't think so....u should prefer more powerful engine 150cc or more if you don't need much milage.

Q. Mai Delhi se Siliguri West Bengal jana chahta hu Honda CB Shine 2019 model bike se to mujhe bike kis tarah chalani chahiye aur ek din me kitni chalani chahiye? Mai time pe service bhi karata hu aur bike ke engine me kisi tarah ki problem nahi abhi wahi smooth running kar rahi hai.

In order to do so, we would suggest you to take regular intervals, do not ride for long in a single stretch, maintain a constant speed, do not ride your bike at higher RPMs and take proper safety precautions.

    Driving experience is very good with great handling and low engine sound, Pick up is next level and average is almost same what company claimed.Service cost is on lower side, Overall must purchase bike by every bike lover.

    I have used this bike for

    I have used this bike for a long and it's still as good as a new one engine sound still not change performance is good enough and it's give me a mileage of 65 kmpl a must buy option.
