Q. Which is best in mileage, Jupiter or Activa?

The TVS Jupiter is the Honda Activa's biggest rival. Segment-first features make the Jupiter a popular alternative to the Activa. The frugal engine, comfortable ride quality and the fact that it is cheaper than the Honda Activa despite offering much more make it our pick as the best 110cc scooter on sale. The Activa 5G proved to be more fuel efficient in the city, returning 58.1kmpl. This makes it the second most fuel efficient scooter we have tested, with the most efficient being the TVS Jupiter, which returns 60.44kmpl. On the highway though, the efficiency level drops to 55kmpl, portraying its city-friendly engine character.

Q. Accessories comes with scooty or we have to buy them separately?

For accessories, you might have to pay as it totally depends on dealer i.e. dealership can offer you for free with the new scooter purchase or you can negotiate with them before finalizing a deal. Sometimes, dealership don't give any monetary discount but are ready to offers some additional accessories at the time of purchase. All in all, it depends on the deal done. If not the case, the you need to pay the price attached.

Honda Activa 5G Highlights

Design and Features

On the design front, the Honda Activa 5G remains unchanged when compared to its predecessor. However, it gets a host of new features such as an LED headlamp and semi-digital console (Deluxe Variant), a mobile charging socket (optional) and an additional baggage hook behind the front apron. It also features a new four-in-one ignition slot, which has been derived from the Honda Grazia. There are 8 colours to choose from on the Activa 5G. Amongst which, the Dazzle yellow Metallic shade, is the latest addition.

Powering the Activa 5G is the same engine that we saw on the previous generation Honda Activa. This 109cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivers 8PS of power at 7500rpm and 9Nm of torque at 5500rpm. Suspension duties are still taken care of by the age-old bottom-link unit at the front and a hydraulic monoshock unit at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is done via 130mm drum brakes on both ends, with Honda's combi brake system (CBS) available as standard. Honda has equipped the Activa 5G with 10-inch wheels shod with 100/90 section tubeless tyres.

TVS Jupiter
The TVS Jupiter checks all the boxes when it comes to convenience and practicality. It features a low fuel indicator, external fuel filler cap, a USB charging socket (optional), telescopic forks and an optional front disc brake with sync braking. Add to that a frugal engine, a more modern CVTi transmission and better ride quality with a broader seat, and the TVS Jupiter makes a great case for itself.

Hero Maestro Edge
The Hero Maestro Edge marks the company's first scooter to be indigenously designed and developed in-house. It makes an impressive style statement with its bold yet chiseled styling with funky graphics. The Hero Maestro Edge also showcases some handy features like a semi-digital console with a service reminder, telescopic forks, integrated braking, external fuel filler and underseat storage lamp. However, the build quality doesn’t match up to the Honda or the TVS.

Although the upgrade to LED headlights and the semi-digital console on the newer generation Honda Activa can’t be termed as a generation upgrade, it is crucial towards strengthening the Activa’s position in the Indian two-wheeler market further. Otherwise, the TVS Jupiter comes across as a more premium offering, considering the level of comfort, refinement, quality and practical features on offer. That said, we are certain that the Activa brand will continue to maintain its position as the best-selling scooter in India, owing to the name it has made for itself over the past decade.
