Intermot: International Motorcycle Fair is being held in Cologne from 3rd Oct to 7th Oct. The show is held every other year and attracts World's biggest motorcycle manufacturers and keen enthusiasts. The fair also includes Scooters and e-bikes.
The Shiver 900 might be the most accessible Aprilia superbike, but that hasn't stopped the Italian brand from loading it with advanced components and tech. And if you want something really quirky, then there is always its supermoto sibling - the Dorsoduro 900.
Custom motorcycles are always a delight to see. At Intermot 2018, custom houses like WRENCHMONKEES, Roland Sands, Old Empire Motorcycles, Young Guns Speed Shop had displayed some of their finest modified motorcycles. Let's take a closer look.
Boss Hoss Cycles has been making V8-powered motorcycles for over 28 years now. The newest of the lot are the LS2 Supersport and LS3 standard, both of which pack more than 400 horsepower. This is as American as it can get!
The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory is for those who crave the V4 rumble but want something that can also be their daily ride. It might be a 'practical' street bike, but the Tuono Factory does not miss out on all the modern electronics that you will find in a modern track-bike.
A sofa-set on wheels? Quite possibly! The R 1250 RT is BMW’s way of offering the ultimate in long distance comfort and it got many a traveller’s heart racing at INTERMOT 2018. This tech-loaded tourer gets a few new additions underneath the polarising exterior. For one, it retains the boxer engine but sees a bump up in displacement from 1170cc to 1254cc. And at 136PS/143Nm, it makes an additional 11PS of power and 18Nm more torque. The result is a motorcycle that weighs 280kg going from 0-100kmph in 3.7 seconds! A major update comes in the form of ‘Shiftcam’ variable valve timing and dynamic electronic suspension adjustment. And for all its modernities, it still gets good old fashioned analogue instrumentation. We like!
