Before getting down to buying a bigger car, here are a couple of points to bear in mind

All of us want a bigger car. Well, most of us. However, a bigger car comes with its pros and cons. Bigger cars offer a commanding driving stance and more space, keeping passengers at ease. On the flip side, they consume more fuel, have higher maintenance cost and everything else adds up. First, you must decide if you really need a bigger car and if it is the only option? How many people need to travel on it on a daily basis?

In urban traffic, big cars become impractical for a single person with higher maintenance/fuel consumption, which add up to a higher running cost.

Hatchbacks, on the other hand, are ideal for daily office-home runs with decent seating for three to four people. And with that comes the advantage of maneuverability that is absent in an SUV or sedan. However, the bright side to it is the road presence bigger vehicles have over hatchbacks. But, that is just about it.

Another important factor is the budget. You will have to set your budget higher. If you want to get your car financed, you will also have to consider a higher EMI. And a higher EMI means managing your funds in case you have no option but to buy a big car.

Basically, weigh all the factors that benefit you in buying a bigger car and then go ahead with it. A miscalculated decision of a bigger car may land you in trouble in case you default on EMIs or have exhausted your savings.
