Yamaha just launched the third generation of their popular FZ FI and FZ-S FI at Bengaluru. Priced at Rs 95,000 and Rs 97,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively, the new v3.0 offers a redesigned fuel tank, centre panels, a new, more modern, negative LCD instrument cluster and a twin pod LED headlight up front. There have been some changes in the ergonomics as well, with the bike now switching to a single seat setup (from split seats), which is wider and more padded. And the handlebars are now a bit taller and pulled a bit closer to the rider for a more relaxed riding position. Even the rear subframe has seen a bit of change to keep the rear section of the seat flatter, to make it easier for pillions to climb on or off the bike. But the biggest change is the inclusion of single-channel ABS from Bosch as standard that should bump up the safety quotient by quite a bit. Otherwise, there are no mechanical changes in the bikes. They retain the same chassis and suspension setup, and even the 149cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor is unchanged, making the same 13.2 PS of power and 12.8Nm of torque. However, there has been a slight change in the tuning of the FI, which Yamaha claims gives the FZ FI and FZ-S FI better bottom-end response. Stay tuned for a full review of the motorcycle, coming up soon. Also launched at Bengaluru were the new versions of the FZ25 and Fazer 25. These bikes see no changes in terms of mechanicals or design, but now feature dual-channel ABS as standard. The Yamaha FZ25 ABS is priced at Rs 1.33 lakh and the Fazer 25 ABS comes in at Rs 1.43 lakh (both prices ex-showroom Delhi). For more details, you can subscribe our channel - https://bit.ly/2QoJvRc
