The Rocket III’s engine has grown to 2,500cc Triumph’s Rocket 3 makes more torque than a Maruti Suzuki Swift! Top-of-the-line underpinnings include Brembo Stylema brakes Triumph has managed to shed 40kg over its predecessor After its global unveiling earlier this year, Triumph has now showcased the Rocket III in India for the first time. The motorcycle is on display in Goa at India Bike Week 2019, and an India launch is expected soon. It is powered by the world’s largest production motorcycle engine, a 2,500cc longitudinally-mounted inline triple. The motor puts out 167PS and an earth-shattering 221Nm of torque at just 4000rpm. To help rein all this performance in, the new Rocket also gets ride-by-wire, four riding modes, cornering ABS and traction control. Underpinnings have also been uprated, with the Rocket now getting fully-adjustable suspension from Showa and Brembo Stylema calipers, which aren’t even seen on the brand’s high-performance RS models yet. The previous generation Rocket was sold for around Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), but expect a slight price hike with this newer model.
