- Skoda Rapid’s new 1.0 TSI engine is BS6 compliant
- Rapid 1.5 diesel and 1.6 petrol will be discontinued
- Rapid TSI gets the option of a DSG automatic transmission
The Skoda Rapid will not be undergoing a generational change, even though it is long overdue for one. However, with the BS6 emission norms swinging into action, it now receives a brand new 1.0 litre TSI turbo-petrol engine. This engine produces 115PS/200Nm and is available with the option of a DSG twin-clutch automatic transmission. With the introduction of this engine, the Rapid will only be available as a turbo-petrol model from April 2020, as the 1.5 litre diesel and 1.6 litre petrol will not be upgraded to match the new emission norms.
