The Yamaha Grand Filano hybrid is a 125cc scooter that’s loaded with practical features, sold in select south east Asian markets. In this latest episode of our series ‘Bikes we’d like to see in India’ we list down all the possible reasons why it’d make sense for Yamaha to launch the scooter in India. The most unique aspect about the scooter is its mild hybrid technology. This coupled with Stop & Start system should ensure optimal fuel efficiency. Other notable features include a convenient apron-mounted fuel filler cap, a generous 27-litre underseat storage with boot light and even a single-channel ABS. If Yamaha decides to manufacture the scooter in India and offers all the features in the India-spec scooter, then expect it to be priced at around Rs 1 lakh. If it skips the fancy bits and retains only the essentials like the large underseat storage, Stop & Start system and the apron-mounted fuel filler cap, then it could be priced at around Rs 75,000.
