This latest supersport from Germany has been built all-new from the ground up and features an update 999cc inline-4 cylinder engine that now makes 207PS of power and 113Nm of torque. This S 1000 RR also has seen a lot of weight loss, whether in its new “Flex Frame” chassis, or exhaust system, or even the engine itself, and now weighs 197kg in Standard trim, which is 11kg less than before. The M-Sport model gets carbon fibre wheels along with other weight saving measures that further brings the weight down to 193.5kg (14.5kg less in total than the last gen bike). This new S 1000 RR also features a host of electronic rider assists including Dynamic Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Slide Control, Dynamic Braking Control, optional Dynamic Damping Control and Cornering ABS - all made possible thanks to the inclusion of an 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). BMW claims that all these assistance systems have made this bike a lot easier to ride than ever before. We got a chance to ride this brand new 2019 BMW S 1000 RR for a few laps around the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida and put that claim to the test.
