  • Off-Road Drive with Terrain Tigers on their 4th Anniversary Event

Terrain Tigers is a passionate group of off-road enthusiasts in the Delhi-NCR region, who spend their weekends exploring various off-road trails in their SUVs. There are a whole bunch of 4x4 vehicles in the group. Models include Maruti Gypsy, Mahindra Thar, Tata Safari, Mahindra Scorpio, Mitsubishi Pajero, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Maruti Grand Vitara, and lately the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. This group is now four years old. Celebrating the occasion, the group organized an off-road drive near Gurgaon followed by dinner at Knight Rider Junction in Gurgaon. MotuSid and I were also a part of this drive in my trusty old Scorpio CRDe 4WD, that I fondly call Red Fox. (Some photos, courtesy Neeloy Sarkar, Terrain Tigers, MotuSid)

Incidentally, Red Fox was the one used as a JCB to create that climb. I went down the steep slope.

And now a few videos from @MotuSid:
This one was a bit scary - you shouldn't be going down that fast.

That's a better way to do it:

Roshun When will we get to see Red Fox launch itself like seen in Rohit Shetty films? I believe Mahindra Scorpio is the ideal car to do that On a serious note, Mahindra vehicles have to be given credit for being able to take a beating on a regular basis and still go on strong for years. In the hilly terrains of Kerala, those decade old MM540s and Mahindra pickups still soldier along strong.

I believe in preserving the vehicle. While those jumps and leaps in movies look great on camera, the vehicles are virtually destroyed. For a 2 tonner like the Scorpio, even small jumps take their toll on the suspension. I would rather enjoy my off-road challenges slow and steady, than going flat out. For jumps, Gypsy is the best - it's light and quick. Take a look at ZigDrive 2: https://www.zigwheels.com/forum/post...rch-18-19-2016 for some offroad jump shots!
