Fans of Michael Schumacher rejoice. der Reinmeister’s son Mick Schumacher, all of 16-years-old and winner of Formula 4’s Best Rookie award in 2015, is set to join Prema, a Formula 4 team with ties to Ferrari. Mick made his Formula 4 debut in 2014 with Dutch team Van Amersfoort.

Mick began his racing career in 2008. He started his career under the pseudonym Mick Betsch to avoid the attention associated with his famous father. Mick Schumacher drove in the KF3 class of the ADAC Kart Masters in 2011 and 2012, ending 9th and 11th respectively.
In 2014, he used the name Mick Junior and started in International and National Junior Championships. At the end of 2014, he completed test-drives for Formula 4’s Jenzer Motorsport team. In 2015, Schumacher junior debuted in the formula classes with Van Amersfoort Racing in ADAC Formula 4.
Last year, Formula One driver Nico Rosberg, himself the son of 1982 Formula One World Championship Keke Rosberg, said he was concerned Mick would not be able to enjoy his racing career because of media attention and scrutiny. “Mick had it worse than I did,” Rosberg was quoted by AFP. “It’s an incredible amount of hype. I never had it like that and it's a pity as it must certainly take some of the fun of the sport away from him, but it’s something he has to accept and live with. I always look to see how he's driving and I hope he can enjoy the racing despite all the hype.”
However, reigning Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton was more hopeful and said, “He certainly doesn’t need any advice from me. He just has to look at what his father has done, because he is the greatest legend in our sport.”

Honestly, I feel for this guy, the kind of pressure he must be under when (if) he joins F1 is unimaginable, I mean you're talking Micheal Schumacher's shoes to fill!
But then again, to quote Master Sergeant Farell from the Edge of Tomorrow: "Battle is the Great Redeemer. It is the fiery crucible in which true heroes are forged." In the long run I believe this pressure will be more constructive than destructive!
