In today's digital age where camera phones are as common as they are it's hard to keep things under wrap, especially something as big as a car.
This thread is to keep you up to date with the latest spottings of upcoming cars/bikes in the wild!
Let's start off with the 2017 E-class, the brochure got leaked online accidentally by the portal www.Auto-presse.de and was pulled down shortly but not before a LOT of sites managed to their hands on the images.
The 2017 E-class looks like the love child of the C class and the S class, I have to say it doesn't look bad but at the same time it doesn't look at unique as the BMW/Audi cars across segments ( they look different but at the same time you can see clearly see the DNA in the design philosophies of the cars respectively)
The new E class will make you look twice; to check if you spotted an E class or a C class
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_0## -->

On the inside however it looks proper lux! I MEAN LOOK AT THOSE REAR SEATS!!! HUBBA HUBBA
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_1## -->

<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_2## -->

<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_3## -->

<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_4## -->

<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_5## -->

personally I'm a bigger fan of how Audi has executed the digital instrument cluster, Merc panels seem to flat/squarish from a design perspective.
I dont think they have the S class ambient lighting feature ( else I'm sure they'd have been a shot of it in the press release)

Since design is not universal & doesn't appeal to all kind of buyers, Merc. shouldn't have gone the Audi way. Audi has made a very less difference in A4 & A6 models. Why would someone buy a expensive car which resembles its face like Junior. Not to forget it does has cues fro elder sibling but still not differentiating. Its a matter of debate whether Merc. has done a good thing or not.

The Suzuki Ignis is about to be launched in Japan, and the brochure has been leaked before its launch. This gives us an idea of what to expect in India as well. The car is likely to be showcased at the Auto Expo in Delhi next month. Here are a couple of images from the brochure:
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_6## -->

Here's a pic of the interiors - the AC control panel:
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_7## -->

And here are some specifications:
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_8## -->

What the brochure reveals about the Suzuki Ignis specifications is as follows:
Length: 3700mm
Width: 1660mm
Height: 1595mm
Wheelbase: 2435mm
Ground Clearance: 180 mm
Boot space: 258 litres (seats in place) / 415 litres (rear seats folded)
Engine: 1.25 litre petrol (likely to have the 1.2 K series in India)
Power: 91PS @ 6000 rpm
Torque: 118 Nm @ 4,400 rpm
Transmission: CVT (may be 5-speed manual for India)
We are likely to only get the front-wheel drive variant of the Suzuki Ignis crossover, although in Japan it is an all-wheel drive. If there's any vehicle that can give the new Mahindra KUV100 a run, it will be the Ignis. More images of the Ignis HERE:

I like the Ignis. Sort of reminds you of the old Maruti 800s, especially the boot lid/ glass hatch.

Spotted: Bajaj Qute (Bajaj RE) The Bajaj Qute was recently spotted testing in Trivandrum, Kerala, by indianautosblog.com reader Prashoy C L. The quadricycle, which was codenamed the Bajaj RE, was unveiled on September 25, 2015. According to moneycontrol.com, the Supreme Court has given its nod to Bajaj Auto to produce and sell the quadricycle in India. Meanwhile, the Qute has been on sale in Turkey for sometime now, says the IAB report.

Bajaj Auto is currently testing the vehicle in Tier II cities and metros to gauge the performance of this little four-wheeler. The Bajaj Qute, powered by a 217cc single-cylinder water cooled DTSi engine with 4-valves, weighs in at around 400kg dry. The motor mated to a 5-speed manual transmission puts out 13.5PS @ 5,500rpm and 19.6Nm @ 4,000rpm. Top speed is limited to 70kmph. Bajaj will launch the Qute in petrol, CNG and LPG variants. Bajaj plans on exporting the Qute to 16 countries. So it will be available in both RHD and LHD variants too.

Praveen the Maruti Suzuki Ignis' C-pillar apparently harks back to the Suzuki Cervo, a small Japanese kei car which made its way to the UK later and came to be called as the Suzuki SC1000 and called fondly as the Suzuki Whizzkid.
After taking the Mahindra KUV100 for a short spin and coming back impressed, I just can't wait for the launch of the Ignis. I think it would be a worthy competitor to the Mahindra KUV100. In Japan, the Ignis' can be had with an all-wheel drive version as well. While its unlikely that this version would be launched here, I reckon it would definitely be a hoot to drive.

Call me a sceptic, but I frankly don't see the point of a compact sedan like the Volkswagen Ameo. I would pick a Polo hatchback any day over it, or go the whole hog and pick a Vento if I wanted a boot. I don't want a Polo with a stubby boot stuck on to it. Now, what intrigues me is the pricing - they can't price it above the Polo, because there's the Vento there and it goes into a price bracket beyond the Dzire's and Amaze's of the world. They would have to price it along side the Polo, just to cater to the "sedan" buyer, a car for those who just must have a three box, boot space notwithstanding.

Yes,I too don't see why there should be a compact sedan that looks like a hatch back that itself is 6-7 years old and which already has a proper sedan based on it .Polo/Vento are already overpriced so pricewise even with the tax benefits they can't sell it in the range of other compact sedans like Amaze,Dzire,Sail,zest,aspire,xcent and so many more.and prospective buyers would opt a polo or vento based on their purposes.who are they targeting???

True. I guess there is some registration, excise and custom duty savings to be had with the compact platform that allows vw to price this hatch cheaper.

Our government excise rules have given rise to some pretty hideous creations otherwise as well, just to try and offer every conceivable body style, including 7 seaters under 4 metres in length. And now with the ban on diesel engines over 2 litres likely to stick, we'll see another bunch of larger cars with miniature engines coming in. Yep, the future is 'bright'.

Volkswagen will be launching the new Passat at the Auto Expo. The new Passat will quite possibly feature the 2-litre diesel from the VW family, and possibly the 1.8 petrol (similar to what the Skoda Superb engine options are). Here are some spy photos of the Passat being unloaded, possibly for the Expo.

Pretty sly, aren't I? Today is the Ameo launch. The Volkswagen Ameo to me looks like a Polo with a stubby boot stuck on. I'm hoping it would be more than that. But going by the great teaser ads that Volkswagen is showing, it looks like this is a desi special. Wonly for India, Mind it!

Mr. Fox I feel the Ameo's boot job looks way better than what Maruti achieved with their DZire. It does look odd, but of all the sub-4 metre sedans at least this one looks proportionate.

Yup, the Ameo's rear looks just about fine. Also, the big 215/ R 16 wheels on the Ameo are a big plus !

Got this in my email today.
Limited Edition Mahindra Scorpio named the Scorpio Adventure coming soon!
As per the report on Zigwheels, it will come with new alloys, contrasting cladding and as is apparent from the image below, a new set of decorative stickers [that will fade and look ugly after 2-3 years in the sun . ]
Wonder if there'll be any non-cosmetic addition that will justify the "Adventure" in the name! I hope there is.

Mahindra has done this quite a few times. Either an Adventure or Sports variant. Remember the XUV with the red insets on the alloys - the XUV500 Sports or the canary yellow Scorpio Sports. Come to think of it Renault beat M&M to it with the Duster Adventure kit (at least that had some addons) and so did Tata with the Storme Adventure. Time for Mahindra to get adventurous now I guess. I don't expect anything radical.

An electric variant of the cheapest car in India, the Tata Nano was spotted testing on Indian roads recently. By what looks like an electric charging socket on the rear left of the car, this is perhaps the Tata final chink in the armour of elevating Tata Nano sales in India.

Even the suspension travel of the spied Nano, when compared to the existing Nano variants, is lower or compressed, i.e. the gap between the wheel arch and tyre could be lower because of the added weight of the battery back. Hopefully Tata will bring the Nano EV out soon!

Renault is working on a new generation of their popular model Duster. Slated for global debut in Brazil later this year, a picture of the steering wheel was released on online recently. I know! it's just a steering wheel But, what is different?

For starters, it all new. 4 spoke, sleeker unit now with combination of leather and silver accents. Instrument cluster looks like it is been carried forward from the current model.

The Jeep 551 will be the second-gen model of the Jeep Compass or Jeep Patriot. It will debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in November. India is also slated to receive this model by 2017 and will be manufactured at Tata-Fiat JV plant in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra.

The Renault Kwid was spotted in Brazil before its launch. Seen are rear wiper and those stylish alloys. The instrument cluster is reported to be a conventional digi-analog instrument console. The Indian version gets a full digital display.

In order to meet the latin NCAP, Kwid will get dual airbags as standard. To be offered in both 0.8L and 1L variants, these motors will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and an Easy-R AMT as well.

JijoMalayil, this reneder of the Jeep 551 looks like a mixture of the Grand Cherokee and the Renegade don't you think. Looks good nonetheless. An SUV like this is much needed in the country. Finally we'll get to se some proper blue-blooded SUVs in the country instead of pretentious jacked-up hatchbacks that call themselves SUVs like the Audi Q3 and Merc GLA.

JijoMalayil, the shots of the Tesla 3 looks nice. I cant wait to have a go in this electric car for the masses. It has generated quite the buzz in the international markets, including India.
The Elantra looks like a facelift, and not an all new car. Hyundai need to really step the game up to compete with the segment leaders in this prifce bracket. The 2.0 liter petrol engine sounds like it would tick all the boxes.

I don't care about the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz too much but a source of mine in Maruti tells me that the company is readying a facelift of the car. It will be launched in September 2016 and one of the main changes made to it will be the addition of LED DRLs - but he's not sure in what form (integrated into the headlamps as is the case with the S-Cross, or as additions to the bumper etc.). I want Maruti to offer the Ciaz with cruise control too, maybe this facelift will also bring in this feature.

Images of a VW Polo TSI Bluemotion has appeared on Autoblog India’s website today. The car sports test plates and must have been imported for testing purposes. While the Polo sports a Bluemotion badge at the rear, it is still unclear if the car imported sports a 1.2-litre TSI Bluemotion or the 1.0-litre TSI Bluemotion engine. Most likely, it could be the latter version. This version produces 75PS of power and comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Bluemotion technology is nothing but the engine with a start/stop system, gear change indicator and regenerative braking. Vehicles equipped with these features in India can claim tax incentives by the government. The Maruti SHVS system in the Ciaz and the Ertiga are examples of this. Also, these cars are exempt from Delhi’s Odd-Even policy too! Looks like VW’s onto a winner here.

Ha ha! Looks like you don't watch FBI television series!
But seriously, that was my point. The Duster is supposed to be a compact SUV and the Koleos slotted above it. Now if they're going to make the Duster larger and with 7 seats, then that would mean that they Koleos also has to be put on a bulking diet. Strange.

Kaiserketkar Haha! Don't you think Duster branding will be better for Renault to venture into the seven-seat segment. Koleos hardly found any takers in India. I found the Koleos design very under-stated for an SUV! The new one also follows that theme, here is the new Koleos that is being developed.

JijoMalayil oh no! What happened to the Duster's funky design. When the Duster first came out, I just couldn't stop staring it because of its quirky design. From some angles, the Duster looked like a beach buggy with those flared wheelarches. This new render looks boring in my opinion. It's a bit too safe.

Actually, my reaction was quite the opposite initially. The Duster's quirky design combined with all the quirks on the inside, meant I couldn't look at it. No no, the design hasn't grown on me over time... it's just that I don't mind it now.
Besides, the facelift actually improved the overall look considerably.

You got to hand one thing to Renault however.... the design made the Duster stand out. And I too am afraid, Renault have gone a little too safe with the new design. Not good for brand Duster.

The next-generation Hyundai Verna was spotted in China ahead of its launch. Gets i20 like headlamps and grille. The new Verna is also 30 mm longer and now the wheelbase stands at 2600 mm, that is similar to the Honda City. The higher variants gets projector headlamps and LED DRLs.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_18## -->

The rear has become a little bland in comparison. Don't you think?

Yes, the new design looks very bland to my eyes. What's Hyundai up to? They had a good thing going with the current Verna and then spoilt it with the launch of the Verna 4S. Now we have to be content with this design. But still this car will sell in large numbers here in India considering the trust Indian customers have in Hyundai.

Not really, the current avataar of the Verna is selling around 1.5-2k units/ mth while the Ciaz is doing around 5k and the City around 3-5k. Note that the Verna was doing around 5-6k units in 2012 in it's fluidic avataar. This is a hotly contested segment and if you don't have that something different/ extra, tch tch... too bad.

A European magazine has spotted the upcoming Range Rover Sport coupe being tested in Europe. This SUV will rival the likes of the BMW X6 and Mercedes Benz GLE coupe.

While the engine options will include a range of six and eight-cylinder, petrol and diesel engines, a report points to the possibility of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) introducing an electric powerplant with the model as well.

i wonder why Toyota is still trying so hard to revive the Etios with cosmetic updates. It's major market is the taxi segment who will still continue to buy the car even without a facelift.
What Toyota should focus on is to bring in the Vios .
The Etios ,even though a good car, has been outdated in terms of interiors and exteriors from the day it was launched. These minor updates are still bringing it no where near the competition.

From what I reckon, they will continue updating the Etios till there is incentive enough to bring in a whole new car. The government policy flip-flop has hit the company hard - if not in terms of sales, it has in terms of confidence in the market (I think), and they have made it clear they are not happy with the situation. While you could call them cowards, fortune does not always favour the brave in the real world.

The Etios should be pulled out of showrooms and sold exclusively to fleet owners. I haven't seen an Etios on the road with a private plate that is more than a year old. The Etios, as safe as it may be, still lacks the desirability factor of its rivals. I don't think a facelift is going to change its prospects one bit. But I do feel sad for Toyota's sales being hit thanks to our idiotic governments policies. If they plan on not introducing the Fortuner, Toyota would lose a lot of money as well as the loyal customer base that it has built up over the years.

Mercedes's first real pick-up, the GLT (rumoured) was spied recently. In March 2015, Diamler had confirmed the same, under the Mercedes-Benz Vans brand.

The Mercedes GLT will be a one-tonne, mid-sized pickup. It’s being developed in cooperation with the Renault-Nissan Alliance. Here is the video of the same.

Come to think of it, Mercedes never really had a pickup! I wonder how come they stayed away from that market for so long? Was it because of their premium image - they did not want to be seen as a workhorse brand? The only thing that came close to a pickup from Mercedes was the mammoth AMG G-Wagen 6x6. But this one looks quite nice in silhouette. Wonder what it would eventually look like. Could it look anything like this rendering?

JijoMalayil from what I can see from the teaser, it just looks like another special edition of the Go+
But could it be the Go Cross? Remember the Go Cross concept that they unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo? That too had a similar spoiler. Arghh, it's too confusing.

NikilSJ Yeah, will it be the Go-Cross? I don't think even a single production variant of the same have been spied testing. And will Datsun attempt a Go+ Cross when the Go-Cross is already in the pipeline?

Here is the another teaser released by Datsun.

And here is the regular Datsun Go+.

JijoMalayil then it could just be a sportier limited edition version of the Go+ with features like alloy wheels and a better ICE and probably some premium upholstery. The Go+ hasn't been selling well at all and this must be Datsun's way of clearing some of their stock.

It's not the Go-Cross or the Go-Plus-Cross. It's just a special edition, like NikilSJ said, called the Style.

The limited 'Style' editions of Datsun GO and GO+ are available in the 'T' grade at all 231 sales outlets at Rs 4.06 lakh and Rs 4.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
Datsun introduced new colours with new options for the exterior and interior.
They will be available in New Blue colour, in addition to the existing White and Ruby colours. Exterior options such as new roof rails, a rear spoiler, body graphics and the limited edition 'Style' logo are on offer, while inside the vehicle, owners can choose a dual tone black and beige interior and a piano black centre instrument cluster with silver finish accents.

The Style variant get dual-tone black-beige color theme for the dashboard with piano black centre console and silver inserts. The equipment level of the limited edition models is based on the top-end T variant.

That's true everyone's going nuts for the Kwid and redigo but the fact of the matter remains that if you need the cheap decent looking 7 seater car there is no alternative to the GO+(Omni and EEco are too Industrial looking) and I also like the Color and even more the interior color theme posted by JijoMalayil does not look cheap.Smart move not waiting any longer to launch this as when the Kwid 1.0L comes everyone will once again buy it regardless of their criteria.I Hope this revives the GO+ sales numbers by then.

JijoMalayil, Im really sad to see LR adopting the same design statergy for all their cars. It started with the Evoque and ever since it seems they are adopting it on all their cars. I am a big fan of the Discovery 4 that was currently on sale, and from the pictures, this is far from it, apart from being smaller.

CorsaVeloce We were already disappointed to see most of the Germans following this philosophy of "family design theme". Be it Mercedes Benz, Audi and BMW! At least Land Rover should look apart from its siblings. I hope the upcoming Defender gets a distinct design (woudn't mind the old rugged boxy design)

MotuSid Reports suggest that the new Trailblazer sports a completely redesigned instrument panel, dashboard and centre console. Internationally, the new Trailblazer gets an 8-inch MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Not sure about the 4X4 variant though. I really hope they bring it! The potent engine-gearbox combination coupled with a low-ratio four wheel drive will make it a good buy in this segment.

The next-generation Volkswagen Polo was spotted testing recently. Based on the MQB platform, which will help the 2017 Polo overcome one of its shortcomings – rear cabin space.

The new Polo’s wheelbase has reportedly grown by 90mm. Moreover, the MQB platform will also make the new Polo lighter than the model it replaces.

Notice the wheels pushed outwards, while the overhangs both at the front and the rear are shortened.

Its about time the Polo got a change. The Polo is getting old in the teeth for a long time now. Hope the car will be spacious on the inside with this avatar, The rear is very cramped at present and the floor hump makes it difficult to seat 5 without rubbing knees (Good or bad depending on situation ). Styling, I expect would be clean like all VW's. Those chunky alloys wont be there when we get it in India for sure

Hyundai India seems to be readying a facelift for the Grand i10 hatchback. Testmules are spotted on the Chennai-Bangalore Highway and have surfaced on the Internet thanks to the prying eyes of enthusiasts. The hatchback was launched back in 2013 and it is due time for a ~3 year mid life facelift like with all hyundai cars.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_32## -->

The hatchback segment is facing intense competition and with the launch of the Tiago, some drastic measures was in order.In the above image we can see a restyled Diamond cut alloy wheels and camouflaged front and rear giving us an idea that the car will come with a restyled front and rear end. Although we cant see through it, DRL's may be included since the Swift already has it. We saw DRL's being added to the Elite i20 at a later date which was earlier available only with the i20 Active.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_33## -->

We can see a sneak peek of the restyle front grille in the picture above and it looks better and fresh than the outgoing model for sure.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_34## -->

The Interiors of the car is also taped down. So expect a new redesigned center fascia with the inclusion of a touch screen with navigation like the i20/Active/Creta or at least just a bigger color screen stereo. The built quality of the Grand i10 was always best in the segment and we hope it would continue the same way.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_35## -->

There may be not be any engine change and the car will continue to get the 1.1L 3 Cylinder CRDi Turbo Diesel and the 1.2L 4 Cylinder Kappa2 Petrol engine. There could be a small bump in power to the CRDi motor to aid in better city drivability and highway ride. From the pictures it seems the car is ready with official production tags on the side. We can expect the launch later this year but no official words are out as of now.

Spy shots of the upcoming 2017 Hyundai Sonata have been posted on the Hyundai blog online. This car seems to be a facelift based on the current gen car. In India, the Sonata was discontinued owing to lack of sales and immense competition in the segment.

I don't think they should. The Sonata, being a petrol-only model, will find less takers at first and none at all after a while. Like it had been always. The Hyundai badge also doesn't entice buyers of that segment. Again we've seen that in the past as well.
So In short, it aint got the ground clearance, it ain't got the snob value, it ain't got the mileage, it ain't got the best performance/handling = FAIL

VW Teramont (unconfirmed) was spied in the USA. The VW Teramont is the production version of the VW BlueCross Concept from the 2013 North American International Auto Show.

Like the new VW Tiguan, the VW Teramont will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform.

The car that was spied was powered a V6 engine, which could be the 3.6-liter FSI V6 gasoline engine that produces 280 hp in the 2016 VW Passat). Also offered could be could be a 1.8- or 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder petrol motors.

Gradually all the "Q" series vehicles are entering its second generation. With the next-generation Q7 already out, it's time for its smaller sibling, the Q5. Seen are redesigned grille, bumpers, headlamps and tail-lamps. But the new Q5 still retains the familiar character, and do notice that chrome strip running across the car. Not very sure about that!
The new Q5 will be based on the second generation Modular Longitudinal Matrix platform. The 2017 Audi Q5 is expected to be powered by the familiar four- and six-cylinder TFSI petrol and TDI diesel engines

JijoMalayil unlike the second generation of the Q7 which looks radically different from the older version, this Q5 looks the same as the outgoing model. JOY MRC hahaha. That is true. Hyundai would be better off not re-introducing the Sonata in India again. But what do you think of the Genesis? Do you think it has got what it takes to take on the Germans?

I love the Genesis personally and if I had the money, then definitely would buy one(you now know I like being exclusive), then again has the same shortfalls of the Sonata, Above all the BADGE. People wouldn't touch a Maruti or Hyundai car for that kind of money.
For example, When I first saw the business class flight like seats in the Nissan Teana. I thought this car would top the sales charts as it seems the perfect replacement for the low cost Germans.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_39## -->

But what happened, Buyers gave more importance to the NISSAN badge and the fact that the car being used as fleet vehicle for premium hotels sealed the fate of the Teana. People moving up the chain want to have a car which can relate to their social status and sadly Hyundai isn't up there(yet). If you buy one, you would have to do a lot of explaining why you chose a Hyundai over the others.

Toyota is all set to launch the updated Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatch. The updated cars were unveiled in Brazil last week and the company has confirmed that both cars will be launched before the festive season kicks in. The company is in the final stages to roll out the updated cars.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_41## -->

Toyota dealers are offering a reasonable discounts on its existing Etios and Etios Liva. Dealers in Delhi and Chennai have confirmed a cash discount of ₹ 12,500 on the Etios and ₹ 10,000 on the Liva. Mumbai buyers can get a discount of ₹ 13,000-15,000 on both the cars(all deals seem too low to justify). While discounts on the cars are not huge and do not come directly from the company, it still indicates that Toyota is in a bit of hurry to clear its existing stocks as the updated cars are likely to come just before the festive season.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_42## -->

The facelifts of the Toyota Etios and Etios Liva will now sport a V-shaped grille with black inserts and some chrome bits. The front bumper in black matches the fog lamps. The car's dimensions is still unchanged. The car also gets new 15 inch alloy wheels, current model comes with 14 inch wheels only. The top-end trim of the cars launched in Brazil gets Piano black interiors with a touch-screen infotainment system with Navigation(Whether it will be available in the Indian variant is unknown as of now).No mechanical changes are to be expected with both the cars.

With this 2017 model, the Q5 will enter it's second generation. It has long been overdue as this car has been selling with minor facelifts since its debut in 2008. Expect the Q5 to undergo a full re-design, to keep in line with the evolutionary design of all the new Audis.
I think that the biggest change in the Q5 will be the mechanicals. It will be based on the 'Modular Longitudinal Matrix' platform, also known as ‘MLB Evo’. This platform is known to be extremely versatile and currently underpins vehicles as compact as the fifth generation Audi A4 and as big and luxurious as the Bentley Bentayga.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_45## -->
The 2017 Audi Q5 could be offered in front-wheel drive configuration in some markets (such as India!), but most of its engine models are likely to have the quattro permanent all-wheel drive as standard. Expect the obvious 1.4- and 2.0-litre TSI petrol and 2.0- and 3.0-litre TDI diesel motors to make it to our shores. Transmission choices will most likely be 7-speed S tronic and 8-speed tiptronic, the manual will not be offered here.
Audi has also hinted that the new Q5 may have a 'S Performance' variant. Fingers crossed.

CorsaVeloce it's high time the Q5 got a overhaul. The older model has been around for nearly 8 years now which is a long time in this day and age. I hope the new Q5 feels a bit more premium on the inside as that is something I found lacking in the older version. My question is: Will the new Q5's design be an evolution of the current car or will it be all new with more straight surfaces like the new Audi Q7? I hope Audi goes for a more aggressive design as the older one looked too soft in the eye for me.

NikilSJ, I think the interior of the new Q5 will get a similar treatment as the Q7, with the straight, contemporary lines and the faux grille dash. With Audi, there is not much left to imagination as you probably know. Whenever their line-up of cars are due for an update, the basically design one properly and then leave the rest for the designers to just adjust for size and apply. Also, if you notice the second picture carefully, you will notice the slightly bulging arches (much like the Duster, if I may say so). And im sure it'll not be too aggressive - as we saw with the Q7, just more modern and 'sophisticated'

Toyota is all set to launch the updated Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatch. The updated cars were unveiled in Brazil last week and the company has confirmed that both cars will be launched before the festive season kicks in. The company is in the final stages to roll out the updated cars.

Reports suggest that the Etios sedan facelift is expected to hit Indian markets on 13th of September.

Hyundai's upcoming and completely new Genesis was spied recently. The newest model, dubbed the Genesis G70, was spotted undergoing testing in Death Valley(Eastern California) before it's official reveal, which was expected later this year or by the first quarter of 2017.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_46## -->
Although the G70 looks heavily disguised in these spy photos, we can clearly see the sedan's BMW 3 Series like sizing and sporty characters, It features large, performance-oriented wheels, muscular dual exhausts and narrow headlights.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_47## -->
The car might feature 4 and 6 cylinder engines with standard rear-wheel drive and possibly available all-wheel drive as in previous models.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_48## -->
The G70 will be a welcome addition in expanding the growing Genesis range, as Hyundai's luxury division currently offers only 2 models under the Genesis brand in the U.S. A flagship sedan dubbed the G90, and a smaller model, dubbed the G80. The new G70 will add to the lineup to offer a more complete range.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_49## -->

While the Genesis G70 is supposed to hit production form and display during the 2016 U.S Auto show season, A glimpse of the car's look was showcased earlier this year during the debut of the Hyundai-powered G70 Concept at the New York International Auto Show.
<!-- ##phrase_image_larger_version_x_y_z_50## -->

While these Death Valley spy shots only show a sedan, a coupe version (likely to be called the G70 Coupe) will soon follow.

JOY MRC, man I love the Genesis.
All of the top officials at Hyundai, Chennai use the Genesis as their mode of transport. During the Auto Expo'16, ther was a big fleet of black Genesis' at the main entrance, and man did they look cool.
Although globally, not many trust Hyundai with large luxury cars, but they have created a niche market for themselves, just like VW did in few coiuntries with the Phaeton. Looking forward to this making it to India as well.

The upcoming Chevrolet Beat has been spotted testing, by a friend of CorsaVeloce . The car was completely covered in camouflage, so it's hard to tell the differences with the current one. However, one thing is for sure when you look at the photos below - that the car being tested is an iteration of the current Chevrolet Beat only, and is likely to have minimal cosmetic changes at the most. It will definitely not be like the one posted in THIS piece.
The Beat has been one of the best-selling cars for General Motors in India. It was the first to come with a small diesel (3-cylinder, 1 litre). It was also one of the most fuel efficient small cars for a while, before more efficient diesels came along. In 2014, General Motors launched the "all new" Chevrolet Beat with minor cosmetic changes, that were tough to spot. Now, let's see what GM has done to the Beat in this iteration, that should be here the festive season. The body shell and shape of the car looks the same as the older Beat, so expect only minor changes again.

Chevy needs much more than a facelift for the Beat. Even though they had a great diesel engine and lots of features, the Beat had been around quite long.
Chevy not performing well, and lack of expansion of the brand is another cause of worry to many.
Chevy needs to bring in more products from Europe, instead of dumping the Chinese designs here. They need to understand that the market, especially in the hatchback segment is quite tough. With all new products like the Kwid and Tiago coming up, they need to bring in all new products to face the competition. Any other brand like Maruti can manage to sell older designs, but when it comes to GM, they really need something new and exciting to pull a person to their showroom.
The Chevrolet Sonic would be something that would pull crowds into the showrooms. Even the Cruze hatchback may do great considering the market for premium hatchbacks.

Arjun Definetly agree. Chevrolet brand is disappearing fast from the consumers minds. Better act fast launching models inline with the market trends(premium hatchbacks,compact SUV's) bringing the back the old Beat is not going to help anymore. They need a miracle product(like Tiago for TATA, Kwid for Renault) to gain back what they have lost in India.

It is safe to say that is raining Audis this year.
After the lauinch of the new Q7, Audi brought in the super cool R8, followed by the all-new A4. I had just uploaded some snaps of the new Q5 being tested as well.
The latest addition to the Audi line-up could possibly be the A5 Sportback. This car is essentially the smaller A7 and the regular version of the S5. The S5 has been selling in India for the last year now and has happened to win some fan boys of it's own. With the A5, expect it to be priced between the A4 and A6, should be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. Surely it would get the 2.0 liter diesel engine, but otjer engine options remian to be a mystery.

The C-pillar look fantastic! Love the slopey design lines. Wow!

New Yamaha R15 v3.0 is expected to be launched early next year. So the next generation bike has been rendered by Motoblast.org.

The redesigned fairing, headlamps, tail lamps, turn indicators and rear-view mirrors give a significantly sleeker and aggressive appeal to the R15’s front-end. The R15 V3.0 can be expected to have styling cues borrowed from the yamaha R25..The new Version is likely to have the same engine and other mechanicals, along with a slight bump in power. The Yamaha R15 V3.0 could debut later this year in Indonesia and is expected to launch here in the first half of 2017. Image:IAB.

A Volkswagen Vento facelift was spotted testing on the Mumbai-Pune highway. Seen are new twin projector headlamp cluster with LED DRLs and new black alloys. Looks quite sporty I would say!

Volkswagen Vento had already received a facelift earlier this year. Maybe this update is only for a select export market, and not for India.

JijoMalayil This is the new top-end VW Vento that will be introduced later in the upcoming festive season. The changes are only limited to the front end in the form of revised headlamp cluster and LED DRLs. All other things remains the same and the prices may go up by few thousand rupees.

Next Gen Chevrolet Beat with Brige interiors spied in Delhi..It’s expected to launch in India in early 2017, and will spawn a crossover (Chevrolet Beat Activ) and sub-4m sedan (Chevrolet Beat Essentia) as well.
Although the test mule is heavily covered up, Chevrolet has revealed the exterior of the next gen Beat, which is nearly similar to the international-spec Spark. More of a heavy facelift than a next generation, the 2017 Chevrolet Beat gets an updated 2-part grille flanked by large headlamps, chrome embellishment on the grille and headlamps, roof rails, round foglamps, new taillamps and a re-positioned registration plate area.

Changes inside are likely to be limited to a new dual-tone dashboard housing a 7-inch MyLink infotainment system and a revised bike-inspired instrument cluster. Improvements to the build quality as well as materials are also expected. Image: IAB

From the looks of it, this car seems to be the Skoda Kodiaq, re-badged. As we know that Skoda's brand recall is not great in some countries, they are probably developing this vehicle for such countries, so that it can be sold with the VW badge.

Bunny Punia, one of our ex-moderators, spotted the upcoming Chevrolet Beat Activ in Delhi over the last week. The car look very similar to the one that made it's world debut at the Auto Expo 2016.

The Chevrolet Essentia is the other car that drew attention at the Expo and it is essentially the sub-4m sedan version of the Beat Activ hatch. Expect these cars to roll in sometime soon, hopefully should revive the drowning ship of Chevrolet in India.

A BMW Coupe (name not confirmed) was spied testing recently. Is the new 6-series coupe? The car looks really long, perhaps, longer than any coupe offering from BMW. This stretched wheelbase will ensure more room inside. One thing is sure, expect the car to have a striking design, borrowing cues from its existing line-up.

Tata upcoming offerings the compact SUV Nexon and Kite 5 compact sedan was spotted testing together. Both are expected to increase the sales volumes of Tata passenger cars in India. We expect the Kite 5 to be launched during the festive season, and Nexon by early 2017. The Kite 5 looks tall according to sedan standards, and Nexon looks wide enough to seat three at the rear.

Great find. It looks like its Pune considering the registeration, condition of the cars(mud on the rear plates) and Tatas factory in the city.
I hope we can expect a diwali release for at least one of the cars.

We all know that Audi has an all-new A8 under development and until that is launched, it will be few steps behind it's German brothers in the luxury limosine game. All new spyshots of the 2018 Audi A8 have flooded the web and it seems rather exciting. The tail-lamp glow pattern can be clearly seen and so can the front design. Codenamed "Audi D5", the design seems to be influenced by the Audi Prologue concept (image below).

Expect the interior to be packed with gizmos, which should include all that has been offered in the new A4 and Q7.

The fourth generation Audi A8 will be based on the MLB-Evo platform. With the new platform, the next gen Audi A8 is expected to be around 200 kg lighter than the outgoing model. Engine lineup will include 3.0L six- and 4.0L eight-cylinder engines available in petrol and diesel variants. At this point, it is unclear whether the 6.3L W12 will make to this car, but I have serious doubts.

The Mahindra e20 four-door variant was again spotted in Bangalore. The rear gets a slightly different styling to accommodate the extra doors. The four-door variant will make the e20 a more practical car, in turn increasing its popularity among the masses.

I really wish that Mahindra would have made the e20 a little wider, it still looks not proportionate right? The regular e20 motor produces 25.5 hp and 53.9 Nm of torque. A full charge can be attained in around 5 hours and the range is 100 kilometers per charge.
