Q. 'Dear sir, planning yo buy a SUV. Lots of confusion between Tata Harrier Automatic transmission ( ZXA+), Kia Steltos, Creta and MG hector Plus. pls advise which one to buy in terms of Better mileage, power, steardyness, less maintenance charges, and with latest technologies. Sir we go often for. Long drive to mountains. And off roadings. A family of 4 members. Also I am normally posted at remote locations. Sir pls advise which one to buy. Budget is around Rs 24 lakhs. '
  • As per your requirements, you may go for the Tata Harrier among the lot. Tata Harrier is the best choice in the sub-Rs 20 lakh price bracket if you are looking for a SUV with a spacious cabin, torquey engine, great road presence and practicality. The Harrier may not be the most feature rich car in the segment but it comes across as a value for money proposition with the features, space and drivability on offer. On the other hand, MG Hector Plus is spacious, delivers better power performance and comes in 6-seater configuration. The 170PS, 350Nm diesel is a punchy motor and feels at home both in the city and on the highway. Sound and vibration levels are kept in check and while it is not the most refined version of the Fiat-sourced engine we have driven, it won’t leave you complaining either. Another good option as per your requirements and budget would be the Jeep Compass that offer good off-roading traits and a powerful diesel engine. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.Read More: - 2020 Tata Harrier Automatic: First Drive Review - Tata Harrier vs Hyundai Creta vs Jeep Compass: Comparison Review
  • Harrier. Very good car, really no comparision. It is a segment above the Creta and Seltos. It is also very good looking. MG Hector may have more features but these features donot really matter much. Harrier has enough features, you will get a panaromic sunroof with Harrier also. Finally Harrier is Indian brand and Tata makes safer cars.
Q. My Budget is upto 18 lakhs. I am planning to buy SUV in March'19. Most of my drive will be in city maximum upto 50km per day. I am confused which SUV to go for (1) Tata Harrier (2)Jeep Compass (3) Hyundai Tucson (4) Maruti Vitara Brezza. I also need decision on whether to go for Automatic or Manual,Petrol or Diesel.
  • Tata Harrier is good among these SUVs if you are looking for manual diesel but I felt the steering is kind of heavy or hard to drive not a easier one or smoother one in Harrier, but if you are looking for automatic you could consider hyundai creta automatic gearbox is so good in creta, Jeep compass you will get a base variant in your budget which I think is overpriced a bit, hyundai Tucson will also cost you around starting 23 lakhs but a good car to drive, and breeza is a good in its segment but lacks performance.
  • Tata harrier is the best SUV under 20 lakhs. Hyundai Tuscon is overpriced and Brezza is a segment below in terms of everything. If you want an automatic for city use go for Jeep Compass. But if you can live with manual transmission in city traffic then Harrier is the best SUV.
  • I would suggest if u cant increase ur budget to go for ecosport titanium automatic petrol ....It comes with all the feature and best DCG automatic transmission cruise control pedal shift...awesome system...very less maintenance....

Q. Which one is better Harrier or Jeep Compass?
  • Bhai don’t ever think of buying harrier as it’s a hopeless vehicle. My own harrier is still parked at Tata motor workshop due to non availability of parts and fuel pump which got faulty a month back . On my way to Vadodara to indore whole diesel got leakage due to faulty fuel pump and I was stuck in jungle in midnight. Hopeless vehicle from Tata motor. I this modern technological environment this type of quality was not at all expected from Tata’s ..!!!👎
  • Harrier is big in every way than jeep compass Compass has. A premium feel in the cabon. But harrier is no less. With it's gigantic road presence and thought build. And almost a huge difference in price. If you have budget issue go for harrier it won't let you down. And also a thing if you looking for a true of-roader then harrier is with a doubt
  • If Jeep have improved upon the initial flaws in suspension and clutch then definitely COMPASS. Harriet is also a great car but a little low on power compared to Jeep despite having the same engine. Harriet 140 hp and Compass 170 hp. On the price front Harriet is a great option. Harriet has proven Land Rover chassis and engine gear box combo is same as in Compass. If you can wait A seven seater Harriet is about to be launched with 170 bhp. On the price front HARRIER TAKES THE CAKE
