Q. Which offers good performance Rapid petrol or diesel?
  • Rapid's petrol engine generates peak torque of 150 Nm which is very good for the car of its size. It gives good acceleration when engine speed crosses 1500 rpm. So if you work through gears keeping this in mind you can get a really sporty behavior by car. I have noticed on highways that with strong mid-range torque, I need to rarely shift down the gear for overtaking. I am not talking about ambitious, aggressive and overzealous overtaking obviously. Petrol version will provide all this a more gently. On the contrary, you will find Rapid diesel doing this all with ease but with a more audible engine inside the cabin. However, it is bliss when you have to accelerate and brake very often. Rapid diesel is simply wonderful here for this riding pattern. Both cars are good for mileage. However, the petrol version cannot match the economy of diesel version.
