Q. Which among Jeep Compass or Octavia is good to buy
- Jeep Compass is an SUV while Skoda Octavia is a sedan. They cater to different market segments. If you want a vehicle with good clearance, high seating position for easy ingress and egress etc. Compass is the answer. Otherwise Octavia is suitable choice.

Q. What is the function of 4x2 drive and difference between 2WD drive and 4x2 drive - Compass?
- There IS a difference between 4x2 and 2WD. 2WD only supplies torque to the real axle or front axle depending on the vehicle being front-wheel drive or rear wheel drive. The other axle never gets torque because its not connected to the drivetrain. That's 2WD.4x2 has a drivetrain the DOES supply torque to both axles, but only one at a time. There is usually a dial similar to 2H/4H/4L on a 4x4 but it'll say ON/OFF instead. This turns on the adaptive drivetrain which supplies torque as needed to tires that loose traction.
- A 4x2 has power at both axels but is a standard 2 wheel drive until one tire slips then the other drive wheels kick in . It's basically giving control to the vehicle to decide when it will be using one drive axel or 2. 2010's Ford ranger sport models had this drive train standard. Works great on small trucks or suvs. My old man has an f150 with it and he gets stuck in 2 inches of mud
- It is basically the same. 4X2 means the vehicle has 4 wheels out of which 2 are powered. 2 Wheel Drive is essentially the same thing.
Q. I need to buy Jeep Compass automatic, after reading reviews I can see that it's not so great about the fuel efficiency what company claim and what is the actual efficiency, can anyone suggest what is the actual efficiency for petrol AT and should I go for AT or manual?
- Recently I bought a jeep compass 4 x 4 S diesel variant mileage in city is very poor around 7.5 KMPL and on Highway 11 KmPL and the gearbox is very poorly tuned, ac of the car is not that much Impressive either , no matter how smooth I drive result is still the same I am really upset ,but there is also good things about the car which is excellent ride, fabulous music system and so many features Impressive 4 x 4 capabilities
- I own a Petrol AT (Limited) 2018 variant. Within the city, the mileage is 8.5 to 9 Km , suburban areas it is 10 to 11 and on highways, it is 12-13; but still lower than what is proclaimed by the company - 16Km!
- Jeep Compass pulls with 178 bhp so the mileage definitely going to be less than 10 kmpl in city for the automatic variant and between 12-14 kmpl for the manual one.

After installation of new clutch with gas kit installed, Average has been drastically dropped from 14.5 to 9.02 in city average books, Long routes it has come down to 19.08 to 13.09 max not acceptable, Service everything was done from official jeep service station.

It is a darling to drive.Very sturdy.Strong doors.Even today after almost 10 yrs it feels good.I hv tried a few cars for test drive, & when i return to my car, I hv always felt my car is better than that new test driven car.It gives literally a tank like feel.Xcellent pick up very easy to over take.Huge trunk.Superb mileage almost 18kms/l on high way.Solid steering feed back.Leather interiors look good.The automatic transmission is one of the best in its class.Last 10 yrs there were no issues.The only draw back i felt was its bulkiness & length in city driving conditions.
