Recently Asked User Questions

Q. I have 10L budget. sugest me between Kia sonet or i20 top model
  • Both cars come under different segments, share same powertrain and have their own forte. Hyundai i20 is a premium hatchback, it is well built
Q. I am very confused between Hyundai i20 and Kia Sonet ? Which one will you prefer in the budget of 10 lakhs?
  • Selecting between the Kia Sonet and Hyundai i20 would depend on certain factors such as your preference of the segment, fuel type, features required, maintenance costs, etc. If we talk about Kia Sonet, it is tuned for comfort. That’s pretty much the ride and handling package of the Sonet. In itself, the suspension battles harsh road surfaces, surface-level changes, and potholes with confidence. What amplifies this confidence is the insulation. You hear little of the tyre and road surface, making you believe the ride is plusher. Large craters at low speeds are shrugged off with little side-to-side movement. Over sharp edges and expansion joints, you’d notice some vertical movement before the suspension settles. This never gets tiresome though, even on fast expressways. Both the steering and braking performance seem par for the course. The steering is light enough for city duties and weighs up enough for the highways. Enthusiasts could harp on about wanting more feedback, but for the Sonet’s intended use it does just fine. It holds its line well (albeit with a slight body roll) and lets you have some cornering fun in the twisties. It still remains a good value for money car for an everyday city-centric SUV. On the other hand, Hyundai’s certainly pushed expectations from the segment ahead by offering more features and more choice with the drive options, while improving on the basic need of space and practicality. Hyundai i20 doesn’t just offer loads of new tech, it also works better as a family car than before, albeit for a bit of a price increase. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
Q. How is the performance of i20 petrol 1.2 Asta, compared to Altroz and Baleno?
  • All these cars put out similar power performance. If we talk about Hyundai i20 1.2 petrol, this is an improved version of the older 1.2-litre engine and does help with refinement. However, power remains a bit scarce. It does its city duties fairly well and you won't have a reason to complain while commuting, but it starts to feel a little stressed on the highways or when you are looking to extract all the horsepower out of it. If we talk about tata Altroz, petrol engine feels crude to push and the three-cylinder clatter remains present throughout the rev band. The refinement doesn't feel anywhere close to what the segment has to offer. The power delivery is liner and smooth. This will be helpful in the city as it offers a smooth drive, not overwhelming you at any point. However, the lack of power and punch is evident. The engine is slow to rev and even at higher revs, doesn't feel sporty. This becomes more prominent on the highways. You will have to downshift a couple of gears to make a quick overtake or to hit a gap in traffic. This could be partially down to the Altroz weighing 1036kg kerb. For reference, the Baleno Smart Hybrid petrol weighs 910kg. While the Baleno's engine feels refined and linear in its power delivery its feels just like a Swift when it comes to performance. It is fun to drive and delivers good fuel efficiency. However, it isn't that stable a high speed as compared to other two. You may compare app these cars accordingly. Do take a test drive in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details.
