Q. Maruti Ciaz Alpha automatic and Alpha automatic smart hybrid, between these two what are the differences?
  • Ciaz automatic is a non manual car however smart hybrid is more of a start stop function when the car is idle in jams or red light. It really boosts the average of the car.
  • Nothing
Q. What is different between the gear box system for Ciaz and Swift?
  • The petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines of Maruti Ciaz are mated to a 5-speed manual, while the 1.5-litre diesel is coupled to a 6-speed manual. The petrol motor also comes with the option of a 4-speed AT. On the other hand, Swift is powered by a 1.3-litre diesel unit and a 1.2-litre petrol engine. Both the powertrains come with the option of either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Q. Maruti Ciaz hasn't updated BS6. Would it be a good suggestion to go for Ciaz now?
  • Talking about Maruti Ciaz as of now is not updated on the BS6 compliant emission norms. Maruti is planning to update the 1.5-litre petrol motor as per the new emission norms. While the petrol engine will be updated to meet the new emission norms, the 1.5-litre diesel will sadly be discontinued. Maruti has already announced that it will not be updating any of its diesel engines for the new norms. However, the brand has also said that the 1.5-litre can be updated depending on customer demand. Currently, the Ciaz is available with 1.5-litre Smart Hybrid petrol engine and the newly introduced 1.5-litre DDiS 225 engine. However, the brand yet to take a final call on continuing with its latest 1.5-litre DDiS 225 engine which may be considered if there is a demand. So selecting the car completely depends on one's choice and preference.
