Q. Is BRV better than the new Ertiga overall?
  • Hi, the new Ertiga is nothing but a cosmetic upgrade of the last one. If you wish to compare BR-V with Ertiga, do a full test drive of both cars and the facts will uncover. Ride handling and rear passenger comfort on BR-V is miles ahead of Ertiga. The rear passengers do not get a body roll on BR-V and Ertiga either but that purely depends on how the driver is navigating the road turns, especially the spiral hilly terrain. The last row bench seats of BR-V are more usable and have better leg space for two when you compare it with Ertiga, which has a crammed third row. Features wise, Ertiga might score ahead as the newly launched version will definitely carry extra add-ons whereas BR-V facelift is expected to arrive in late 2019. The most striking difference between the two is the availability of CVT with paddle shifters on a petrol-head BR-V which is non existent in Ertiga. CVT with paddle shifters offers extreme drive comfort and the luxury of a supercar feature at virtually no extra cost.Overall, BR-V is way ahead of Ertiga but in India, it takes a person to be more smarter than just being wise to make the right choices when it comes to car buying. Rest, individual opinion may vary.
  • Both Maruti Ertiga and Honda BRV are ideal cars for a family. If you want a car with a spacious cabin, compact proportions, Maruti's service network, then the Ertiga is a better pick. It is a good 7-seater MUV with a decent list of features and competitive pricing. Honda BRV, on the other hand, could be a better option if you want a with powerful petrol/diesel engine with good fuel efficiency. Moreover, do take a test drive of the vehicles in order to get a better insight. Follow the link for dealerships .
  • Yes in all aspects, except for seating comfort, Ertiga is slightly better in that area

Q. I am planning to buy a 7 zeater car for long term, atleast 7 to 8 years. Can you please suggest a better choice between Honda BRV and Maruti Ertiga considering the following points:-1. Best automatic between the two.2. Better fuel efficiency 3. Better features like rear parking camera, touch screen, better seats in all rows. 4. Long term reliability and resale value. 5. Low maintenance. 6. Service cost.7. Better handling if 85% usage is in city and 15% on highways. 8. Best suited for bumper to bumper traffic driving.
  • The best pick among the two is Maruti Ertiga. The Ertiga nails down to the ample space, comfortable ride quality, adequate boot space, acceptable efficiency, and service support like no other. Maruti Suzuki has introduced the 1.5-litre DDiS 225 diesel engine for the Ertiga. The engine makes 95PS of power at 4,000rpm and 225Nm of peak torque between 150****500rpm. Maruti is also claiming an efficiency figure of 24.20 kmpl for the new DDiS 225 engine. The engine is also coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. Maruti Suzuki has improved upon the suspension of the older Ertiga. It confidently tackles craters and bad roads and lets very little filter into the cabin. The suspension settles back quickly once you’re done negotiating the bad bits. It’s this characteristic that makes the Ertiga feel more composed than before on the highway. Even at slow city speeds too, there are no complaints. Moreover to clear all your doubts would request you to take the test drive for both the cars.Click on the following link to have a detailed comparison for both the cars. https://www.zigwheels.com/compare-cars/honda-brv-vs-maruti-suzuki-ertiga
  • Well i would suggest new ertiga with 1.5 litre diesel but i have seen some requirements of yours that iy should have better handling, good automatic gearbox and for occasional highways usage so well brv 1.5-litre petrol with cvt gearbox is great handler for an Suv rides beautifully, mileage os decent of petrol engine that powerfull 16kml ive got more in manual but yeah and cvt gearbox gets steering paddle shifter so that's an added bonus but still overall ertiga is pretty good offering from Suzuki and between this two ertiga makes more sense because its cheaper and has more features
  • https://www.zigwheels.com/compare-cars/honda-brv-vs-maruti-suzuki-ertiga " data-repliedtouser="Zigwheels" > In view of the ten year permit for Diesel personal cars already in force in Delhi, and the same rule likely to get adopted in other major metros also, i feel Petrol variant is better choice.

Q. Thanks for your time and valuable suggestions. Could you please suggest me with the best choice if I have to choose between 2018 New Ertiga AT and BRV CVT considering below requirement, 1. Automatic transmission 2. 7 Seater 3. Reverse parking camera 4. In city (avg 30KM/per day self- drive) 5. Occasionally long drive with family 6. Reliable and Stable for long-term
  • I own a V-CVT BRV and have taken a test ride of Ertiga AMT last week. My friend was looking for one. I would point out, where Ertiga scores over BRV. 1. New ertiga offers little bit more space in 3R than BRV. 2. The dashboard looks better in Ertiga than in BRv especially with the wooden finish. 3. Ertiga top end is way cheaper than BRV, even if you compare automatics. 4. Ertiga AMT version gets FR seat AR where BRV does not. I have installed the Armrest separately from Honda itself. 5. Ertiga AMT version gets the 8inch touchscreen system where BRV does not. Now where does BRV score over Ertiga 1. 2R tumble seats. Much easier to get in and out of 3R in BRV than Ertiga. 2. 3R is also tumble seats. Just imagine the boot space when 2R is tumbled and 3R is fold flat. 3. CVT beats Marutis torque converter any given moment. The acceleration and power generation is better. 4. Honda engine is better for long term reliability compared to Suzuki's. I have also owned City before before exchanging it for BRV. 5. Driver as well as all row passenger visibility is better compared to Ertigas. Last but not the least, soon you will find Ertiga Taxis waiting next to your personal Ertiga. IMO, thats an important point. Happy driving!!
  • Honda is more reliable, as I did have an Ertiga earlier I can confidently say that. CVT is better than the 4speed torque converter. I can even say the reliability of parts, wear and tear and even cost of service that I found of Honda is much better. Where BRV would not shine is the actual space inside as the second row is not as wide as that of the Ertiga. Being Indian Maruti has a better resale compared to Honda, but if you are considering keeping the car for at least 5yrs then go for Honda
  • Well if power and handling is not yoir concern then definitely new 2018 ertiga is the best option it has features and its wider than brv, but performance is first on your list then nothing can beat brv in terms of acceleration and handling combo.
