Q. Will the ride comfort with 185/55- R 16 in Honda City is good against Creta with 215/65/R 17?
- Well, the tyre size doesn't make a big difference while comparing the different segment car with different suspension setups and characteristics. With the update, Honda has fixed the unnecessarily stiff ride quality that plagued the fourth-generation City. The suspension tune is unique for Indian roads, tailored to take on our potholes and bumps. We’re happy to report there’s a massive step up in the way the City deals with bad roads. Shock absorption has improved noticeably and the suspension is also quieter as it goes about tackling them. This softer suspension, thankfully, hasn’t resulted in a floaty feeling on the highway. It remains planted. With precise steering, the City continues to be fun around corners. It’s the right weight for the city and highway too, no complaints. On the other hand, the real sense of plushness in the new Creta comes from its suspension setup. At town speeds, the Creta simply excels thanks to its absorbent low speed ride, delivered despite the large 17-inch wheels. Well-judged spring rates help this compact SUV feel supple yet well controlled. Even over rutted surfaces, the suspension has a surprisingly good level of crash-free bump absorption as you don’t feel most imperfections. Yes, there is some firmness at low speeds but it never gets to the point of feeling uncomfortable. Even at higher speeds, the Creta shows good composure and this makes it a soothing highway companion. The car also does an excellent job of cutting out road noise and combined with the silent suspension, the Creta feels plush and comfortable most of the time. Creta feels rock solid and its straight-line stability is really good. Even when you show it a set of corners, the Creta changes direction quite eagerly, but it isn’t particularly engaging to drive. The steering is smooth and accurate but is merely a tool for pointing the front wheels and there is a fair bit of body roll too. You may compare both the cars accordingly. Do take a test drive in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details.
Q. What is the main difference between Honda City V and VX petrol-manual? Which one is better value for money?
- Both variants offer very good value for money. The base V variant itself is a complete car but the price premium of around Rs 1.40 lakh commanded by the VX variant is worth it as it adds more airbags, bigger alloy wheels, a sunroof and more. If you can stretch your budget for the VX, we would highly recommend it.
Q. Why should I choose Honda City and not Nissan Kicks. Both are priced the same (Kicks 1.3 Turbo & City 1.5 petrol). Nissan has more ground clearance and more width. City only has more airbags and speakers?

- You should choose what suits your needs best. With the City, you also buy into Honda network of sales and service. That is much wider than Nissan network. Also, the 1.5-litre petrol is an upgraded version of an engine that is proven to be reliable.
- Yes, it is ... Actually I am using Brio 2014 model and as my maximum journey alonghigh way and rural area thats why I am looking for a car with high groung clearance and sitting position. Otherwise Honda is excellent.
