Q. I am confuse between 520d and 530i which is more better - 5 Series?
  • Firstly the BMW 5 Series 520d is a diesel car. Whereas, the 530i variant is a petrol car. The power delivery is 190bhp and 252bhp respectively. As far as the mileage is concerned, they are 22.48 kmpl and 15.01 kmpl respectively. For a detailed comparison, follow the below link - Compare. If you drive less than 1500 km a month (50kms a day), you don’t need a diesel. The petrol engine is a lot more refined and is a lot more quiet and powerful. Yes, the diesel is more efficient, but it doesn’t mean it is cheaper to have a diesel engine unless you have a lot of running. Diesel is cheaper to run. But diesel cars are more expensive. If you do not have too much running, petrol makes it an ideal pick.
