Q. What's changed in Apache BS6 and when it will be launched?
  • The power and torque have been reduced in the BS 6 version. The look has been facelifted and gives more premium feel to the machine. Headlight is upgraded from halogen to full LED which has better luminance. There is no carburetor variant in BS6 as Fi is kept standard. Price for dual disc variant has got up by around 8000. Exhaust has been made more crispier which resembles to KTM. The electric start mechanism has improved, you hear almost no motor noise on pressing the start button.The engine is more tuned to race and RTFi (race tuned fuel injection) has been added. Overall BS6 variant is 30-40% better
  • BsVI models launched after April ,2020. Changes like carburettor get replace by fuel injector catalic converter to reduce smoke . Abs is mandatory for all bikes.I have this model already.

  • If you want to experience signature Apache wild and beast engine, go for Apache 160 (engine vibrations gives a raw feel to rider).If you want a more refined engine like that of Yamaha and Honda, go for 160 4v. There is not any significant difference in mileage.

Q. Should I buy Yamaha FZ-Fi Version 3.0 now or wait for the BS6 engine and how much the price will increase - FZ V3?
  • The Bharat Stage 6 (BSVI) norm is the sixth mandate for vehicular emissions and a much welcome change amidst the rampant air pollution in India. NOx (Nitrogen Oxide) level will be brought down by a staggering 25% for Petrol Engines. So, if you can wait for BS6 engine than that would be a good option and if you need the bike now than you can go with BS4 model and that won't make much difference once BS6 engine is launched. Moreover, for the price, it would be difficult to give any verdict as BS6 complained engine for Yamaha FZ-Fi Version 3.0 is not launched yet. Stay tuned for further updates.
