Q. What about gear system of Royal Enfield Bullet 350? I am planning for a standard, should I go for it or Classic this will be my first bike.
  • I have standard Bullet 350cc (1997 model) and its gear box system is different from engine where as new engines have combine gear box and engine....in new engines if you have any problem in gearbox you have to open whole engine whereas in old engine there is a separate gearbox attached with the engine u don't need to touch the engine.....if you want to buy old model you can contact me on +91 985****329
  • The gear system on royal Enfield is similar to other sports bike on market. For first gear you push the lever downward then up comes Nutral and Up 2,3,4 and so on to fifth. Depending upon your comfort in bike you can choose between Standard and Cassic. Standard is a bit high then Classic. Classic gives you a low ride experience comparing to most of the Royal Enfield's.
  • The Gear box in Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is a slick shifting one on my personal bike........The pattern is:-1st gear is up and rest four gears down.. neutral is between 1st and 2nd gear... Bullet is a very good bike indeed........If you want real ROYAL ENFIELD feeling then you should definitely go for the Bullet.......hope your queries are solved...😄😄

Q. I am looking to buy a new bike. Looking for Cruse Bike like Bullet, Thunderbird 350X, Avenger 220, Jawa or UM Bike. What you guys suggest? My height is 5'4-5 ft and weight is 82Kg and my budget is below 2 lakhs.
  • I am not biased towards any brands, just sharing my information about the Auto Industry.1. UM is a dead company in the Indian market, poor build quality, poor services network.2. Jawa is also a good brand but the waiting period for Jawa is very long, it takes almost 7 to 8 months.3. as owner of RE bullet 350, I will say its a good bike for touring and high torque at lower rpm makes it easy to cover offroad. and RE has a good network of service centres all over India. 4. Avenger is a good bike for touring, but it struggles in off-road conditions, it has low Ground clearance makes it best bike for cruising but it makes it difficult for offroad riding..
  • Royal Enfield bikes are best but according to your height and weight personality You should go for Java or Benelli Imperiale 400 or If you want a RE bike then go for Classic 350 Take a test ride of all bikes and then decide on which bike you are comfortable and can easily handle it.

Q. The crank weight of standard 350 (10.5 kg ) is said to be the highest in Royal Enfield bike, is it true? What are the crank weight of other models - Bullet 350?
  • Crank weight for the different models of 350 RE is different. The much older ones used to weigh much over 10.5 kgs. The new models are lesser than 10.5 kgs. Crank shafts of other competing bikes have lesser weight than the current REs.
  • Technically STD 350 camshaft is more heavier than classic 350 . It slow speed you can go for higher gears.8.5 Kg for classic 350 . Around 10.8 kg for STD 350 UCE engine. Cast iron engine camshaft is around 13.5 kg.
  • Might be 9.5 ... to reduce the torque output from self motor
