Q. Should I buy Ninja 1000SX or Ninja 650?
  • Both bikes come in different price ranges. Kawasaki has done a smashing job of making the Ninja 650 a whole lot sportier than before. This sporty vibe stems from its Ninja ZX-6R-inspired looks and builds further with the revv-happy motor that surrounds you with a lovely raspy soundtrack. The suspension setup too is well-tuned to tackle bad tarmac stretches. There are a few drawbacks like the erratic ABS intervention, low ground clearance and tyres that don’t perform too well in wet conditions. The latter two can be solved by taking extreme precaution over oversized speed humps and by swapping out the tyres for something grippier. The ABS calibration issue can be a bit unnerving but you will have to pay more heed when grabbing the brakes. As a whole though, the Ninja 650 BS6 certainly appeals to both the mind as well as the heart, making it a good option for someone who wants to go out there and buy their first proper big bike. On the other hand, If budget is not a issue and looking for a better power performance at a price and often go for long rides, Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX would be a good option. However, it is a bit heavier side and a bit difficult to handle in narrow roads or in city conditions. Apart from it, it offers better feature list, riding modes and better road grip. Also, it is the cheapest bike in its segment that delivers 142 PS/111 Nm. You may compare both bikes accordingly. Do take a test ride in order to get better clarity. • 2016 Red Icon. Just a lot of fun to ride! Light, super nimble. Very torquey but I like that. Clutch went just under 10000k, replacement cost = $1300.00. Ouch! But can’t keep the front wheel on the ground now after it’s replacement. At 6’3”, 220 lbs, bikes too small for me, wish I waited for 2019 1200 would’ve fit much better. But again, don’t care. I love the damn bike! Take it light off-roading and handles real good. Topped out at about 120 on highway. The perfect around towner. Think these are big out West US (Cali), but not so much here in NYC area, so people constantly admire. Between maintenance costs, and parts/accessories though, it’ll probably (maybe) push me away from buying Ducati again (but who really knows😝) If someone asked me, I’d def recommend if they don’t mind paying the Xtra smackers at the shop.

  • Awesome inline 4 engine. Butter smooth. Power delivery is awesome. On highway got 20 to 22 kmpl and in city 14 to 16. Awesome control and 1000cc in this price range is quiet unbelievable 🤷‍♂️

  • Perfect bike for both touring and weekend rides. Looks and feels great to ride and packed with features. Most value for money superbike and an amazing do it all bike. If you can have just one superbike and want to do it all then this is it. Only thing you've gotta look out for when riding in the city is the ground clearance, at 135mm it's a little too low for our monstrous speed breakers. The up and down quick shifter, TFT display and cruise control are amazing additions ❤️
