Pros and Cons

  • Positives
  • Negatives

BMW G 310 GS

  • Looks just like larger GS cousins
  • Comfortable upright ergos for touring
  • Is the lightest ADV in its class

KTM 250 Adventure

  • One of the smoothest KTM single-cylinder engines on sale. 19-/17-inch wheel setup gives better confidence when going over rough roads.

BMW G 310 GS

  • Engine refinement is a major concern
  • Lacks low-end grunt that is necessary for off-roading
  • Suspension is a bit too soft.

KTM 250 Adventure

  • It is pricey. Lacks LED headlight and TFT screen. No change in engine tune from Duke sibling.

Q. Why should one consider a G 310 GS against a much cheaper and more powerful KTM 390 Duke which is already proven?
  • I own a 310 GS and I would not give KTM 390 even a thought! 1. The comfort of riding the 310GS is incomparable. 2. It looks far more premium than the 390. Even if you hide the logo and put both bikes side by side you will notice the difference. 3. It gives me a rather 'bold and confidant' personality rather than the 'always ready to race' stigma attached to the KTM. 4. Oh I'm an engineer and understand speed, power, torque, time, space and gravity very well, but please don't start off with numbers again...
  • Good question but only if seen thru the lens of price and power. The baby GS offer much more in terms of its offroading ability. Were the KTM 390 available in an ADV avatar, the baby GS would have stood no chance.
  • When I buying 310gs, there was no other adventure tourer bikes on that price range except RE Himalayan & Hero Xpulse. I owned a RE motorcycle before, so I was not ready to buy an RE motor cycle again. Xpulse was too small to long rides. If my purchase was in nowadays I will definitely go for KTM 390 Adventure

Q. What is the difference between BMW G310 R and BMW G310 GS?
  • Both BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS are good bikes, however, selecting between the two would depend on your preference of the segment. If you are looking for a powerful and premium street naked bike that is absolutely a hoot to ride thanks to its great handling dynamics and offers decently punchy motor and incredible ride quality. However, it lags behind its competition when it comes to features, and the vibes really hold it back from being ridden at speeds that the engine can easily do. On the other hand, the G 310 GS offers comfortable upright ergos for touring, lighter weight, and would be a brilliant option if you are looking for a bike with off-roading capabilities. Moreover, we would suggest you take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
Q. Which is good to buy KTM DUKE 390 OR BMW G310GS. Which one best in all condition?
  • F you are looking for a powerful naked sports bike. The KTM Duke 390 would be a better option as it's 373.2cc produces 43.5 PS @ 9000 rpm when compared to the G 310 GS's 313 cc churns 34 PS @ 9500 rpm. Both the bikes get dual-channel ABS with aggressive ergonomics. The KTM Duke 390 gets a Contactless, Controlled, Fully Electronic Ignition System With Digital Ignition Timing Adjustment which is a cherry on the cake. Moreover, we would suggest you take a test ride of both the bikes so that you may evaluate the bikes on the basis of your outlook toward the ride quality, features, and comfort.Click here for the detailed Comparison.Click here to get the dealer details: Dealership.
  • There is nothing like a bike best for all conditions. It does not exist and never will. You have to prioritize your needs. City or adventure. KTM or BMW.

G 310 GS User Reviews
  • The ktm 250 adventure's 248.8cc engine is identical to the one in the ktm 250 duke and the husqvarna 250s, Down to the state of tune (30hp/24nm).Paired to a six-speed gearbox, It has the same gear ratios as well, And the end result is a familiar riding experience. While accelerating, The engine only begins to come alive post 4, 000rpm, With a notable surge after 7, 500rpm, And all the way to the 10, 500rpm limiter. Our vbox tests confirm that despite weighing more than the husqvarna 250s, The difference in acceleration is minimal.
