Q. I am planning to buy my first bike. My shortlisted choices are very small Vulcan S650 and Versys 650. Considering Indian road conditions, which bike would you recommend me? My budget is around 6.5 lakhs INR. Any other options are also welcome.
  • These are entirely different types of bikes - Cruiser and Semi ADV. Secondly Versys is more expensive and it isn’t available for Rs 6.5 Lac (assuming you are not buying a used one). I paid Rs 7.08 Lac for Vulcan itself (Bengaluru). Both are big bikes. Versys is a little more gigantic/bulky than Vulcan making it difficult to be a daily commuter. Vulcan May be slightly better on this aspect, but it has a pathetic 130 mm ground clearance which makes it somewhat difficult to ride over speed bumps and potholes in Cities. But Versys is a better All-rounder compared to Vulcan since it has some off-roading capability. If you are ok with the might/bulk of Versys and its higher Price, Versys May be a better choice.( I wanted Cruiser, so I chose Vulcan ).However, if your rides are a good combination of daily commute and touring, Z650 and Ninja650 are better options compared to Versys and Vulcan.
  • Yes.. You can either install an Aftermarket exhaust or get ‘fork raisers’ installed.. Since I live in Bengaluru where cops seem to be very strict about aftermarket exhausts ( and also due to these exhausts being very expensive ), I got ‘fork raisers’ installed which raise the frame by a couple of inches thereby increasing the ground clearance by about an inch..Note that these fork raisers are not some standard accessories you can buy.. These were fabricated and installed at a workshop owned by a member of one of the riding clubs, so you need to check if such fabrication and installation can be done by someone in your city..
  • Hi,I would suggest you to decide priority and need first .Every segmented bike have different purpose .Versys meant to be for off touring purpose including some off road capabilities.Vulcun is good for city ride and for daily commuting but sometimes it will create problem as ground clearance is not so good.Ninja 650 is a good sports tourer with comfortably adjusted upright clip on handlebar also you can enjoy weekend rides in city as well as on highway.Decide what you want take test ride of all the bikes and choose accordingly

Q. Kawasaki Vulcan S or Harley Davidson Street 750, What would be the best option to pick?
  • Kawasaki's engines and technology are more refined and advanced than Harley's. I picked a Vulcan instead of Street.

    Adventure with Refined Performance

The Benelli Leoncino 500 offers a strong and tasteful ride while adroitly combining traditional fineness with an audacious personality. It's applicable for both off- road adventure and megacity transportation thanks to its important 500cc Mechanism, which guarantees a fostering and smooth interpretation. The motorbike has a feeling of Classic fetish and coincidental rigidity thanks to its retromodern two wheeler and affable running. Although its dualchannel ABS increases security, further wind keeping for whirlwind ride might make it indeed more comfortable. A demesne of everlasting adventure, the Benelli Leoncino 500 honors dynamic prowess and Italian artificer.

    Retro style bike

This is a premium looking bike with outstanding design and is a retro style bike. It comes with competitive price in its segment and gives comfortable riding. It has a stylish round headlight and full-LED lighting and a twin-pod LCD instrument cluster. It gives good performane but fuel efficiency is on the lower side. Its fuel tank capacity is around 12.7 litres and comes with 6 speed manual transmission system but the LED headlamp is not powerful. It gives good performance with good braking and hardware system and gives good ride.

    Eye catcher

Great bike to own. love the sound. rev happy engine. 1 month/2000kms review:pros:- great handler can totally lean into corners with confidence.- perfectly balanced.- looks amazing, eye catcher for sure.- sound is blissful.- doesn"t show it"s weight when you want to filter through the traffic.- breaking is very confidence inspiring.- switchable abs is handy when you want to slide into corner and have some fun.- happy cruiser, will maintain 100-120kms in 6th gear with ease at low rpm and very light throttle.- excellent heat dissipation better than Harley Davidson 750 Street/Street rod.cons:- fuel efficiency is okish but not great. To get the best fuel economy you have to ride between 2000rpm-3500rpm, which is not really fun. I got 16-20kmpl in the city and on the highway it was around 24-25kmpl.- ground clearance is good enough but when you have a pillion who is more than 70kg then all the sharp speed bumps are a big nightmare.- maintenance cost is subjective - every service cost around 6k rupees.- gets heated up when stuck in traffic because of surrounding heat generated by all the vehicles but doesn"t get hot enough to burn or make you run away from the bike.

Leoncino 500 Embodies the Spirit of Adventure.

The sound of dynamism is audible with the Benelli Leoncino 500. This ignominious bike offers an instigative interpretation and a completing bid for riders who are concerned about the happiness of the open road. Its massive engine and precise functioning give an instigative and responsive assist. Becai use of its special phraseology and fascinating preoccupation, the Leoncino 500 stands out and offers a satiny and assessing lift. screen protocols are followed in order to give a safe and secure assist. The Benelli Leoncino 500 is the full bike if you are appearing for commodity that combines moxie and archetypal project.

    Timeless Adventure Unleashed

My estimation for the Leoncino 500 has been completely obtained. Due to its outstanding features, which give the ideal balance of quaint Request and off road interpretation, I detect myself hauled to this adventure bike. Benelli has created a agent that's excellent for both challenging adventure and megacity commute. It strikes an jolt with its useful addition of a strong Engine, Stylish but Classic 2 Wheeler, and rider friendly features. For those appearing for a beautiful and adaptable adventure motorbike, the model is a clear fave due to its surprising capability to give a Classic adventure unlocked experience.

    Very comfortable, reliable

Very comfortable, Reliable and plenty of power to cruise at highway speeds.I've put 5000miles on mine in the first year just chain maintenance and oil changes and the bike will run forever. It has lots of low end torque so off the line this bike moves but if you cruising at 70 mph mostly any other parallel twin naked bike will leave you in the dust. But that fine with me this bake checks all the boxes and it looks good as well for the price.

    Reliable cruiser

Most reliable cruiser.Solid, High quality frame and parts as expected from kawasaki.Having a forward placed parallel twin engine, There is minimum heat felt around the thighs giving it more advantage over the popular v twin engine cruisers. Also parallel twin reduces the vibration of the vehicle, Elongating the life of all the parts.Engine mapping could have been improved as it is still sporty like the other models of kawasaki fitting with the same 650cc engine. The bike always seems to be in an accelerated mode and never seems to settle down at cruising speeds between 100 to 125 kmps.Having listed the pros here are few cons too: poor ground clearance due to bulky catalytic converter and long wheel base.Uninteresting exhaust note.Expensive spare parts. In my opinion: the most practical and reliable cruiser that is available in india at the moment if it is within the buyer's budget.

    Exhaust sound

After a 2000 km ride and much more experience with Vulcan S bike. I am surprised by its performance. It is quick and fast for a cruiser. It is a sportbike with a cruiser body. Because it is an expensive bike. I just wish it has more features like riding modes etc. Builds quality is awesome. I can't feel the vibration at all. It's heavy, but again because of the low seat height. You cannot feel the weight. The con side of the bike is that I hate the exhaust sound, and there are very limited accessories in India. The maintenance is high.
