Q. Which bike is better, CT 110 or Splendor Plus?
  • Both the bikes are good in their forte. Bajaj has launched the rugged-looking CT110X at Rs 55,494, making it the top-most model in the CT lineup. It features bits like thicker crash guards, a rear luggage carrier, semi-knobby tyres and a raised front mudguard. The Bajaj CT110 BS6 is available in two variants - kick start and electric start. In terms of features, the CT110 gets a braced handlebar, tank pads, colour coded rim tapes and fork gaiters. It also gets and blacked out mechanicals and a new set of graphics which adds a touch of sportiness to the bike. The bike's seat come with better cushioning and premium stitching. Powering Bajaj's entry-level motorcycle is a single-cylinder engine sourced from the Platina 110. The new BS6 motor gets a carburettor. It’s expected to generate the same power output of 8.6PS at 7,000rpm and 9.81Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm. The motor comes mated to a 4-speed transmission. Whereas, The Splendor Plus is offered in three variants: kick start with alloy wheel, self-start with alloy wheel, and self-start with i3S. You also get a couple of new paint options which differentiate it from the BS4 model. The Splendor Plus is powered by the tried-and-tested 97.2cc single-cylinder engine. It puts out 8PS and 8.05Nm, 0.36PS less than the BS4 version. Being a basic commuter motorcycle, the Splendor isn’t exactly feature-rich. You get alloy wheels as standard and the option of an electric start system and Hero’s i3S stop-start system which helps keep the bike as economical as possible. A CBS system and a preload-adjustable rear suspension come standard. Like the rest of the bike, the analogue instrument cluster is also very basic. CT 110X adventure

I have used the Bajaj CT 110X bike for some time now. It is a solid bike. The bike is tough and comfy to ride. It works well for daily travel and errands. This bike is also the lowest priced in its group. This is a plus for people with tight budgets. But, the engine can feel weak at times. It struggles when carrying heavy loads or going uphill. Aside from this small drawback, the Bajaj CT 110X is a great choice. It is an affordable and trustworthy commuter bike.

    Your Adventure Companion

Changing gears unnecessarily spoils your riding experience. Such small switches consume much of your energy and reduce your range to a point. Having created a reliable framework and the capability of passing over any obstacles, it is the best acquisition for those who strive for adrenaline and adventure both in the city and beyond the border of a concrete territory. The power of the fuel-efficient engine provides a pleasant smooth and responsive drive covering the regular commutes with ease as well as offering a suitable weekend getaway. CT 110X has got a spacious seat, an ergonomic position that is easy on the back and strong suspension, these are important aspects that contribute to a comfortable ride even when on the cross country roads.
