The woman is suing New York police Department for sending her to a mental hospital as cops did not believe she owned a BMW

New York cops have given enough grief to a woman named, Kamilah Brock. The black woman was forced to spend eight days in a psych ward – all because the police did not believe she owned a BMW. Brock is now suing the cops for all the mental trauma that she went through.

The 32-year-old African American banker was pulled over by the New York cops last year, while she was waiting at a red light in Harlem, according to reports. An officer asked her why her hands are not on the steering wheel to which she responded that she was dancing, as she was at the red light. The cops asked Brocks to step out of the car and took her under custody.

Brock was then taken to NYPD’s 30th precinct where she was held for several hours and then released without any charge. She was told by the cops that she could pick up her 2003 BMW 325CI only the next day.

However, the events that ensued the next day were totally surprising. When the 32-year-old banker asked the cops to return her car the police officers refused that a black woman could be the owner of such a luxurious vehicle.

The cops then told Brocks that she will have to be handcuffed to get her car. The banker agreed to it and started walking away with the cops. The cops, however, put the woman in an ambulance and took her to a mental asylum.

Reports suggest, that the 32-year-old banker was forced to take lithium and injected with powerful sedatives. Brock was held back at the hospital for eight days and was forced by the hospital staff to deny that she owned the BMW and that US President Barack Obama followed her on Twitter – which are all true facts. To make matters worse, Brock was sent a Rs 8.5 lakh medical bill after she was released.

Brock has filed a suit against the New York Police Department and the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) seeking unspecified damages. She claims that her constitutional rights were violated, and that she suffered from unwanted and unwarranted intrusion of her personal integrity, loss of liberty and mental anguish.
