The Ford EcoSport SUV for the Indian market has been officially unveiled and is slated for launch in the coming months. The American auto maker has also announced that the EcoSport will be offered to Indian buyers in four trims, eight colours and three engine options including the 1-litre EcoBoost turbocharged engine. Manual transmissions will be available in both petrol and diesel models, while the automatic gearbox will come only in the petrol variant. The EcoSport will also be equipped with Sync, Fords voice-enabled in-car connectivity system, which means you can operate your Bluetooth-enabled phone and USB devices, dial calls, read out text messages and browse and select music tracks via voice commands.

BMW has given the X1 a mid life makeover that has made it better looking and a more capable vehicle. More aggressive cosmetic changes to the exteriors and finer interiors now further enhance the premium appeal of the X1. The key issues with its predecessor have been addressed and the new X1 has a softer suspension setup while the steering has also been made lighter for enhanced driving comfort. The 2.0 litre diesel engine in the X1 remains the same as before and develops 177PS of power and 350Nm of torque. The new generation Honda CR-V has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). More refined and better styled as compared to the outgoing model, the new CR-V will be available only as a petrol model, but will offer buyers both two-and four-wheel drive options. Highlights of the 3rd edition of the Mumbai International Motor Show 2013, that took place from the 24th to the 27th of January 2013 at the MMRDA Grounds, BKC, Mumbai. Like in previous editions visitors got the opportunity to connect with their favourite car and bike brands, most of whom showcased their complete product line up. Also some special performances by the Bajaj GhostRyders stunt team and some off-roading action at the Polaris ATV track. Mahindra displayed their special edition Cheetah-skinned XUV5OO and Hyundai presented their first ever crossover coupe, the Veloster. More than 100 cars were launched in India in 2012. These include several special edition variants that car makers launched from time to time to boost sales.
