Ducati India dealerships have started accepting bookings of the Scrambler for Rs 50,000, Ducati sources have disclosed to ZigWheels.

So far, at least 7-8 bookings have already been made in Ducati India’s Delhi dealership. Dealers maintain that after the Diavel, the Scrambler is beginning to generate a lot of interest among potential customers.

The bike, Ducati’s cheapest offering in the Indian market, will carry a price tag of around Rs 6.38 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).  At that price, the Scrambler will offer a much more affordable option than the likes of the Kawasaki Z800 or the Triumph Street Triple.

Retro cool looks and a price tag below the Rs 7 lakh mark makes the Scrambler a very attractive proposition for enthusiasts looking for a fun, classic looking yet modern ride.

What the Scrambler offers is a modern motorcycle with all the design elements of a classic bike, yet looking contemporary. The engine is the same 803cc L-twin unit of the Monster 795, and makes about 76PS power and offers 68Nm of torque at 5750rpm.

The Scrambler promises to be a capable, fun bike with adequate performance to keep both experienced and new riders entertained. Old school bikers will particularly appreciate the ergonomics and simple, fun-to-ride elements of the Scrambler, which we have already documented in our initial impressions and first ride review.

Although there’s been no official confirmation from Ducati India, dealers say that the Scrambler will be launched sometime in May and prices of the entire range of Ducati bikes will be officially announced soon.
