Expected: early-2012 Price: Rs. 7-10 lakh

The Duster is a flashy new mini-SUV from Renault that will be out on our roads sometime in early-2012 and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 7-10 lakh. Available in 1.6 litre petrol and a 1.5 litre diesel engine options, the Duster will be a sub-10 lakh rupee soft-roader which can take a fair bit of rough terrain but not serious off-roading.

There will be two diesel engines on offer, one with 90 horses while the other one will be the more powerful 107 version for the enthusiasts. The Duster is based on the same platform as the Logan and the highlights of the car include impressive cabin space, good ride quality and respectable performance with solid built quality. Renault Duster is available in Oman, recently launched. I have not test driven the vehicle but it looks dated already and it is too boxy though the fender flares make it look like a small Nissan X-Terra. And it is quite small. It should be called a Cross-Over than an SUV. The price is Rs. 7.5 Lakh.

Dear Sir, i would like share one information with i.e.the automobiles cars dealers in delhi are selling the cars/mpvs other than the actual on road prices (on road price = road tax regd. ins. ex showroom price)but what they are charging is handling and transportation and i.e. rs.6000-8000 extra burden on the customer and the car manufacturers are not taking any action in this regard, i request you to kindly look into the matter.
