Tata Motors will be launching a refreshed version of the Tata Safari Storme SUV in the next couple of months. And before the launch, a test mule of the new Storme was spied doing the rounds, but this time without any camouflage.

These pictures indicate that the Tata Safari Storme will get some cosmetic upgrades and add new features on the SUV. One of the visible changes is the new honeycomb grille, which resembles the one on the Land Rover Freelander. Even the air-dam gets a similar honeycomb treatment, giving the front of the new Storme a taller stance.

We don’t expect too many changes mechanically on this version, but the refreshed SUV will get an updated version of the 2.2-litre four-cylinder VariCOR diesel engine, producing 10PS more power at 140PS and 320Nm of torque, like the Tata Aria. The motor will continue to be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

On the inside, Tata Motors will ensure to load the new Tata Safari Storme facelift with new features and updated cabin design. The current interior layout looks dated when compared to the newly refreshed Mahindra Scorpio.

We can expect the Tata Safari Strome facelift to get a modern, large screen touchscreen infotainment system, and rear camera. There will be better use of fabric and leather to give the cabin a more upmarket feel.

According to reports, Tata is considering redesigning the third row seats and could replace the existing jump seats with conventional bench style layout. Also, as an option the middle row could get more comfortable, independent Captain chairs in the top-of-the-line variant.

The new Tata Safari Storme is expected to be launched in the next couple of months and would be priced between Rs 10 to 14 lakh.
