Lamborghini will officially launch its new V10 powered Huracan in India on September 22. The Huracan will replace the aging Gallardo that has seen extremely good results for Lamborghini in India. The Huracan is expected to be priced at about Rs 3.5-3.8 Crore, depending on how the owner decides to spec their car.

The Lamborghini Huracan is powered by a 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 engine which produces 618PS of peak power at 8250rpm and peak torque of 560Nm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the first for Lamborghini. The Italian supercar manufacturer claims that the Huracan can sprint between 0-100kmph in 3.2 seconds and 0-200kmph in 9.9 seconds with a top speed of more than 325kmph. The Lamborghini Huracan currently comes with all wheel drive although lighter, more powerful; rear wheel drive versions are expected next year.

After a recent showcase of the car in India earlier this year, dealers have confirmed that the new car has received tremendous response from the Indian supercar buying audience. With deliveries expected to start by the end of September, all dealers in the country have received confirmed bookings for the Huracan that exceed the quotas that has been allotted to India by the Italian supercar manufacturer. A few dealers even informed us how they have had confirmed orders from a few loyal customers without even looking at the car in the flesh, a testament to the level of excitement a brand new Lamborghini usually brings to the table.

The Lamborghini Huracan has also been a great international success and has already taken the supercar market by storm with over 700 orders in under a month after its launch at the Geneva motor show earlier this year. The Huracan will go up against the likes of the Ferrari 458 Speciale, the Porsche 911 Turbo/GT2/GT3, the Audi R8 V10+ and the Aston Martin Vanquish.
