Maruti Suzuki’s forthcoming new car the SX4 S Cross has been snapped undergoing testing several times. But, this time around images of the car’s interior have surfaced on the web, and the latest spy shots reveal that the car gets a similar interior styling that was seen during the 2014 Indian Auto Expo.
Inside the cabin, silver linings run around the AC vents, centre console and the audio system while the dashboard is accentuated in black colour. Steering wheel is a three-spoke all-black unit and is similar to some of the Maruti cars available on sale. However, the steering mounted controls, climatic control and start/stop button are missing on the test mule.
The S-Cross which is on sale in some international markets comes equipped with a 1.6-litre petrol engine delivering 120PS of power and 156Nm of torque. A 1.6-litre Multijet engine capable of churning out 120PS of power and 320Nm of torque is also on offer.
In the Indian market, we expect the crossover to come equipped with a 1.6-litre diesel engine churning out 118PS of power and 313Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The AWD AllGrip system will not be provided in India, to keep the cost of this vehicle low.
We expect the new Maruti Suzuki S-Cross to be launched in India by next year. Once launched, the new Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will pit against the likes of Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and Nissan Terrano.
