The Volkswagen Passat sedan is due for a complete makeover and the company is gearing up to ready the next generation model. The company recently released a set of teaser sketch images of the 2015 Volkswagen Passat, which has led to lot of buzz in the industry.

Obviously, like all upgrades, the next-gen Volkswagen Passat will be pushing the envelope in terms of design, space and features. Going by the official images, the 2015 Volkswagen Passat appears to have sportier stance due to the visible wider front and coupe-like sloping roofline.

And this isn't all. The 2015 Volkswagen Passat has a bolder front grille in chrome and a sleek pair of headlamps which will probably have LED day time running lights that merges with the front grille slats. The front bumper is highlighted with a single chrome slat and sports a narrow air intake with a couple of rectangular fog-lamps. The more muscular side profile will now feature prominent wheel arches and a distinct shoulder line. And the wrap-around taillights and rectangular dual exhaust tips complete the rear design.

The international range of 2015 Volkswagen Passat is expected to be powered with a new 2.0-litre, four-cylinder TDI engine equipped with twin-turbo. This diesel motor is expected to produce about 250PS of peak power and 500Nm of maximum torque. Power will be delivered to all the four wheels via the trusted seven-speed DSG transmission. Simultaneously, VW is also working on a plug-in hybrid variant which would have a combination of 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine and an electric motor.

The Indian version is expected to be equipped with the current range of engine available in our country, albeit, with improved performance and efficiency. The 2015 Passat is expected to be introduced later this year and should be brought to Indian shore in 2015.
