New Renault Lodgy MPV bookings begin in India, to be launched in April

After the popularity of the Renault Duster compact-SUV, the next promising car model from Renault India seems be the Renault Lodgy MPV which will be launched in both 7-seater and 8-seater versions. The new Renault Lodgy is scheduled to be launched in India by the second week of April 2015, with an estimated price ranging between Rs 8-12 lakh. Prominent Renault India dealerships in Mumbai and Pune have confirmed that the bookings for the soon-to-be-launched Renault Lodgy are being accepted, with booking amount starting at Rs 50,000. Though, the dealerships are still to get clarity about the delivery dates, most expect it to begin by mid-April.

The Renault Lodgy is a full-sized MPV which can comfortably seat seven adults. The Lodgy comes equipped with the proven 1.5-litre diesel in two stages of tune - 85PS of peak power and 110PS of peak power, as also seen on the Renault Duster. The 110PS oil-burner has an ARAI certified fuel economy of 20kmpl while the 85PS motor claims about 24kmpl. As of now, Renault does not have a petrol engine version of the Renault Lodgy.

When launched in the next two weeks, the Renault Lodgy is said to give stiff competition to the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Honda Mobilio and Toyota Innova.
