It's a landmark day for commercial vehicle manufacturer, Eicher as it unveiled its revamped product range that is scheduled to hit the road early next year. The new products have been christened as their Eicher Proseries range with the brand's new philosophy to Go Pro.
Commenting on the company's new philosophy, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Eicher Motors Ltd. said, “Our philosophy of ‘Go Pro’ implies that our customers can truly work with and rely on a professional partner. Eicher’s products, service and attitude are truly professional, and this enables our customers to become more productive, profitable and prosperous in their work and life.”
Part of the range will be 11 new products including trucks and buses covering the entire 5-49 tonne gross vehicle weight (GVW) range. The products can be divided into five segments:
Powering the heavy duty trucks will be the new range of Euro 6 engines that were recently unveiled by Eicher. These engines will deliver between 180-280bhp depending on the model. The light and medium duty trucks will be powered by Eicher's current range of engines that develop between 115-140bhp. Eicher says that these engines have been upgraded for the Pro Series range.
The products will be launched in a phased manner with first deliveries starting in February 2014. Eicher has invested Rs 1,800 crore in upgrading infrastructure and developing this new range. It includes a new paintshop with erodip technology, a new chassis assembly and cabin trim line unit and also new axle and transmission assembly facility in Pithampur. Eicher has a network of 274 authorised dealerships and service centers across the country and presence in 22 countries.
