Chevrolet Sail Sedan now closer to India launch

by Sukhpreet Singh Posted on 11 Dec 201235,498 Views6 Comments

Chevrolet has updated its website with images of the new Chevy Sail sedan signaling its launch in Indian markets sometime in the early part of 2013

Chevrolet Sail
Expected : Early 2013; Price : Rs 6 - 7.5 lakh

Chevrolet has on its official website a preview of the Sail Sedan, to be christened as the Chevrolet Sail, which features a typical three-box design with a taut waistline extending from the front wheel arch to the rear. The front as expected resembles the Sail U-VA hatch, but the addition of the boot gives the sub four metre sedan a more complete look. Like the Chevrolet Cruze, the Sail will also sport a ‘Corvette inspired dual cockpit.’

The Chevrolet Sail will be powered by the 1.3-litre SMARTECH turbo-charged oil burner and the 1.2-litre SMARTECH motor doing duty in the Sail U-VA. Power and torque figures are expected to be a tad lower due to the added weight of the trunk.

The equipment list includes safety features such as speed sensitive door locks, ABS with EBD, airbags, collapsible steering column, side impact beams and like the top end trim version, it will feature a Bluetooth integrated stereo with music streaming.

The company will also offer the 3-5-3 advantage on warranty with 3 years/45,000km Chevrolet Promise, 5 year/1,50,000km engine and transmission warranty and 3 year/1,00,000km vehicle warranty as standard for all variants.

I am using this Sail-U-VA for the last two months and my opinion differs with the above. If you compare with the peer models of the other car companies its far far far better than them. I am a senior citizen using various cars since 1993. Its very good product from GM as compared to Dezire,Manza, Micra, I20 Ford figo and others of the similar range. Just go for that .......

  • gobing

  • tom

it 's not up to the mark in any means to complete with the swift

  • Enthusiast

The sail UVA gearbox is notchy and the interiors look quite down market as compared to market for this segment.
