Honda Car India pulled the wraps off the feature rich new Honda Jazz earlier this year at the 2014 Auto Expo. This was the first time the third generation Honda Jazz was showcased to the public in India. And, now automobile enthusiasts have spotted a closer to production model of the new Jazz at Honda Car India’s Greater Noida plant.
The new Honda Jazz comes with refreshed looks, along with the advanced version of the flexible cargo capability, while retaining the fun-to-drive characteristic of the hatchback. Though, Honda has not given out an official launch date, officials say that the new Honda Jazz will be launched in India in the second quarter of 2015.
The new Honda Jazz will share the engine options with the Honda Amaze compact sedan and will offer both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol Honda Jazz will come with a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine good for 88PS of peak power and maximum torque of 109Nm. While the diesel option will feature a 1.5-litre i-DTEC motor producing 100PS of peak power and torque rating of 200Nm.
We can look at a late March or early April 2015 launch date of the new Honda Jazz, with a price tag between Rs 5-8 lakh. Currently, Honda Car India is focusing on the production of Honda Mobilio MPV and new Honda City sedan, to reduce the waiting period and clear the pending orders of these car models.
