The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will be launched on March 26th in India. The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 has to be among the most highly anticipated bike to be launched in 2015. The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 has been caught testing on numerous occasions around Pune and was showcased also as the Pulsar 200SS in Turkey and Indonesia recently. The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 isn’t an entirely new motorcycle but is a faired version of the Pulsar 200NS streetbike. Bajaj claims that the Pulsar RS200 will be the fastest motorcycle to be launched by the Chakan based two-wheeler manufacturer. The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will also be the first fully faired motorcycle to be launched by Bajaj in the Indian market. Pricing for the bike hasn’t been disclosed yet but we speculate it to be around Rs 1.2 lakh given Bajaj’s aggressive pricing history. Bookings for the bike have started at a few dealerships for Rs 5,000.

The design of the bike will be similar to the Pulsar 375SS that was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The styling of the bike should appeal to the youngsters who have a soft spot for super-sports style motorcycles.  Powering the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will be the same 199.5cc powerplant as found on the 200NS. What sets apart the Pulsar RS200 motor is the fact that it will be fuel-injected unlike the carburetted motor as seen on the Pulsar 200NS. Fuel-injection should result in crisper throttle response and avoid cold starting problems alongwith hiking the power output marginally. The 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor produces 24.4PS at 9,500 rpm and 18.6Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear-wheel via a six-speed gearbox. The frame, suspension and brakes on the Pulsar RS200 will be borrowed from the Pulsar 200NS as it is. But it is expected that the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will be the first motorcycle from its stable to offer ABS as an optional extra.
