2015 Audi RS6 Avant launch date announced

Following the launch of the 2015 TT and the facelifted RS7 a few days back, Audi is now looking forward to their next big launch. The 2015 Audi RS6 Avant will make its way to Indian shores on June 4. As the name suggests, the RS6 Avant is the performance version of its station wagon A6 Avant. 

Talking about performance, this one can get to the ton from naught in just 3.9 seconds and can record a top speed of 305kmph. And all of this it achieves with the help of a 4.0-litre V8 unit that makes 560PS and 700Nm. All of this power is sent to the four-wheels with a Quattro system by means of an 8-speed tiptonic transmission. On all four corners, the car sits on 20-inch wheels but has 21-inch wheels as optional extra. 

In terms of looks, the RS6 Avant exhibits form as well as function. It sports the typical Audi trapezoidal grille up front that flaunts the Audi, RS6 and the Quattro logo. On either side of the grille there are those sleek looking LED headlamps. The bumper sports two large air dams which also has the circular fog lamp casing. In profile the star-shaped 10-spoke alloy wheels and the blackened out ORVMs give it a menacing look. The rear design is unmistakably Audi, with a sharp cut on the boot and the LED taillights. The massive twin-exhausts that are housed in the part carbon-fibre bumper screams it to be the RS edition. 

With the launch of the RS6 Avant, Audi is making a bold move, especially considering that there aren’t many takers for station wagons in our country. Audi also has the A6 sedan, and the Q3 and Q7 SUVs scheduled for launch this year.
