New SUV from Skoda hits the streets, priced between Rs 15.4 - 16.62 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi

Skoda has launched its new 4x4 vehicle, the Yeti, in India. While the launch of the SUV had been on the cards for a while now, the Czech carmaker has taken its time and launched the vehicle just after the festive season. The Yeti has been launched at an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs 15.4 lakh for the Ambiente variant, and Rs 16.62 lakh for the fully loaded Elegance variant.

Ex-showroom prices for Maharashtra are slightly lower given the Yeti’s Indian home in Aurangabad, with the Ambiente variant going for Rs 14.98 lakh and the Elegance option for Rs 16.18 lakh. The Yeti is Skoda's fifth model in its product portfolio and has been configured to appeal to both diehard SUV-istas and crossover-mongers courtesy its 4x4 system. Both variants of the SUV are also being offered exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox for now. The Indian Yeti will be powered by the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine that makes 140bhp @ 4200 rpm, and ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure rests at 17.67 kmpl. Looks like the big brutes of the crossover segment in India have a fight on their hands, thanks to this little Czech!
