Renault Scala Launched
Priced between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 9.57 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Scala is quite simply put Renault's take on the spacious Sunny sedan introduced by Nissan in 2011, but will target a slightly higher clientele than what the original Caaaaar! hoped to achieve

Nissan’s introduction of the Sunny in late September last year followed by the diesel model at the end of the same year has certainly created positive vibes for the Japanese car maker here in India and just like we saw previously with Micra, Nissan’s French partenaire Renault is now once again looking to slice through a chunk of the C segment pie on the strength of its own pretty badge with the launch of its version of the Sunny, namely the Scala.
Essentially the same car but now being sold under two different brand names, the Renault Scala just like its Japanese clone carries over most of the exterior elements, not to mention the oodles of interior legroom that we have all come to absolutely love about the Sunny.

What is different on the Scala however are its large headlights that unlike the Sunny have a nice smoked look to it. Even the front bumper and grille have been revised and somewhat resemble that of the Pulse hatchback. Skoda inspired tail lights and a neat chrome strip visually lightens up the rear. The Scala also comes with alloy wheels as standard fitment. Changes on the inside are even more subtle if at all worth mentioning. Leather seats, the Renault badged steering wheel and a new gear knob are as long as that list goes.
Powering the Scala is a choice of two engines, namely a 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. 99PS @ 6000rpm and a decent 134Nm of torque @ 4000rpm for the petrol version and 86PS @ 3750rpm and 200Nm of torque @ 2000rpm for the diesel model are performance figures that we are already quite familiar with on the Sunny sedan.

Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual, however those who opt for a petrol Scala can go in for the CVT automatic version which Renault is expected to introduce in the near future. As per ARAI claims, the Renault Scala (Read : Renault Scala First Drive) petrol is capable of delivering 16.95kmpl and the diesel a very impressive 21.64kmpl. A petrol CVT Scala will also be launched later this year.
Priced between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 9.57 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi for the base petrol version, the Renault Scala may appear to be just another magic trick from the badge engineering department, but for those looking to pay a smaller penny for a entry level sedan that has a more princely on road presence as compared to the Nissan Sunny, Ladies and Gentlemen Renault has the answer.

Saw this one in white today and guys it was looking more upmarket than Sunny. its not aggressively priced though , Sunny has an entry level variant with a price tag of 5.99L which is missing for the same Reno machine , Reno can do more if customer service and pricing is improved , car was placed slightly in dark area and orange illumination within dashboard cluster was looking good
